I just heard from Matt (whiskey runner) that he and others had just left Louisville and ChevyGirlRox (Megan) got into a serious accident in his T bucket.
The rear wheels locked up doing 70 mph and she hit a guard rail and rolled it.
The impact threw her out of the vehicle into a field beside the road on 71.
She was life flighted to a hospital in Louisville and is in stable condition. No major head injuries thank God. She is being monitored and so far so good. No major life threatening problems. Matt said he seen the rears lock up and he was following and had to ditch the 37 giveaway to get away from her. It too hit a guard rail. He is fine. So far so good with everyone. I guess the T bucket is totalled. Matt said he thinks it had to either be the tranny or driveshaft related issue that caused it. In this case.. If she would have been wearing a seatbelt she would have not made it when it rolled. Thankfully she didnt hit her head when she was thrown.
I didnt make Louisville this year. I just received this info and I wanted to share. I'm off to bed say.... a prayer for them. PJ

I talked to Matt on the phone as well and Megan is doing fine. A few cuts on her face and leg and some bruising but she's going to be just fine. They've got her medicated right now so Matt said she'd alittle loopy and tired but she's going to be just fine. THANK GOD!

We just got home from the show and it's been a rough 5 hours since we heard about the accident but no word on who was hurt and how they were doing. It's a miracle no one was more injuried then they were.

Roadstar and I had gotten a phone call during dinner in Dayton. I believe we were about an hour or so ahead of them. Anyway, Scott from Dynamat was behind them on the highway and came upon the scene shortly after it happened. Scott described the cars invloved to Race who was still tearing down the Gennie Shifter booth at the show saying it was the most horrific car accident he'd seen. He said the T was laying upside down on top of the guardrail and smashed to bits. He had no clue about injuries or anything. Roadstar and I just kept praying all the way home that everyone was going to be ok. THANK GOD they were.

Megan, my thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. Hopefully you won't feel too sore and stiff to enjoy the rest of the summer.;) I had a great time hanging out with you on Saturday nite. We'll have to do it again real soon. Call me later on in the week once your out of the hospital and feeling up to chatting.

    Fast recovery all!

Yea, seat belts in a roadster is no help without a roll cage. Best to just leap as it is going over.

That's pretty amazing that anyone could survive an unseatbelted flip in a T-bucket on the interstate. I was disappointed to have barely missed meeting them all in Louisville. Glad we all have the chance to do it again. I know everyone is already on the mend but my prayers are with you anyway.

  20. Oh shit, I was talking with her at Blue Suede Cruise. Hope she is going to be A-OK. The car can be fixed or replaced easier than skin. Get well quick:)

Wow. I've been in a major crash in my '39. I couldn't even look at my car for over six months after it happened. Although I am now close to driving after a long, long rebuild, whenever I see picture of the car, it still freaks me out a little. I will keep all of them in my prayers - get well soon.

  28. Man I hate to hear this.

Sounds like Megan is going to be OK. The cars don't even matter.

I'll keep her & Matt in my prayers.
