I’d like those tail lights please..

 

Check the Obituaries -- The owner's probably dead by now (or maybe even that day).

 

This picture was used as part of an old HRM article outlining new rules for NHRA back in the early '60s. Specifically, they could boot you out of compe***ion if you were caught working under a car that wasn't properly supported with jack stands or equiv. A lot of folks *****ed about the rules and rule changes but I think they were on the right track here.

 

Years ago a kid here abouts was attempting to liberate some wheels from a guys car on his carport late one night. The owner heard some noise and
when he rushed out of his door bumped into his vehicle that was raised
high on a bumper jack. The car fell and the kid was crushed. Sad day
for all involved. The owner was an older fellow and was totally upset
about the whole event.

 

I THINK this is a HAMBERS car or maybe his is a tribute to this one.
