I have been asked by a non tech farmer to help him sell some of the "treasures" he has around his farm located in rust free Oregon. I know very little about this truck. Farmer has clean ***le and I think he said 1942 Dodge with a Spitfire engine. Any help would be appreciated.
The farmer is looking for somebody that wants to finish the project. He drove it to this spot not that long ago. Does anyone know if there is any worth in this truck at all or should he just s**** it.
He has all the parts and no rust. I don't know much about the truck or how to even word the ad. The farmer was a maintenance guy at a local port since he was in the 6th grade. Super nice guy and as honest as the day is long. Can you help me say what it is? The farmer is now pretty close to deaf so conversations are challenging. I have helped him in the past with some of his cars and people seem very pleased with what they get, not only price but everything is there. Any help with what I can say in an ad would be great. Start by gleaning information from the ***le: year, model, GVW. Then do a walk-around and make notes of what's been done, and what needs to be done (besides the obvious ***embly). List new, rebuilt, refurbished. Condition of gl***, sheet metal, radiator, etc. Make your list as (overly) complete as you can. Then sit down with him and go through it, having him make corrections as needed. You don't need narrative, you need to list facts/attributes. Once you've you've gotten the basics listed, post here and C'list, and anywhere else you may happen to think of (Vintage Truck Magazine comes to mind). Good luck!
Ok, I will travel back out to see him. I wish I could take it but I already am working on my son's 1969 MGB and my 1968 Nissan Patrol. Such a cool looking rig.
If he has the ***le of the Truck it should tell you the Make, Model, & Year of it. Then with that info you could look in Hemming to figure about the Price. Just my 3.5 cents Live Long & Die a Fool
Depends on whether you want to sell, or just meet dreamers.. Just pick a price, if someone meets it, sell.......
He has the ***le but in my tiny brain I forgot to have him go get it for me so I could take a picture of it. ...
I have no idea, what do you think, if it was a motorcycle I would have an idea but this....no idea. What would you suggest....he pretty much wants it gone.
Well, I'd say somebody is about to get a very good deal. I am going out to visit the farmer again on Sunday and take more pictures and get a copy o the ***le. Thanks for your help. My neighbor when I moved here had 14 cars in garages. My favorite was a Lincoln Zephyr complete with a rumble seat. He had extra engines on stands etc. None of the cars were fixed up, he drove them all. We don't have rust out here so stuff tends to last forever. Anyhow thanks again, I will let you know how it goes.
Everything has a price just have to find the guy with the money Sent from my SM-T387V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Things like this are now made of Unobtainium. As such they tend to be gold mines waiting for the right prospector to find them. Someone somewhere will dig gold out of his mattress for that truck - just a matter of telling the world that you have a gold mine for sale.
Its a Dodge....still that doesn't mean the only thing its good for is s****. If some farmer told me that its only worth s**** money....then I would be giving him a couple of $$$$ and take it home ....then advertise it ....sell it or part it out...there's definitely potential of making a few bucks off of it...that is if the price per hour you feel that your time is worth is not to outrageous. Seems simple enough. Sent from my SM-T307U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
