Event Coverage Steel in motion - May 14-15

One of the best event's in the Sunny South is this coming weekend at Union County Dragway, I missed last year but plan on being there in 2021.

Hell, I can't find a station that has any gas locally.

 

I just got lucky. If I don’t drive it any between now and Saturday I should be able to get there & back. I sure hope they catch the *******s that hacked the pipeline.

 

With the Colonial pipeline shut down, I filled up the shop delivery wagon yesterday and there was a few cars backed up at the time, I left the shop this afternoon and went home and got the wagon to fill it up to go to Steel in Motion this weekend, The QT with 16 pumps didn't have any gas.

Unless my gas gauge looks like Tom's I won't be going, 1/4 tank ain't gonna get me there.

Siphon some from the shop vehicle. And don’t say you don’t know how. That’s a basic ‘old guy’ skill.

Tom, we log a lot of miles during the week and many time fill up twice a week.

I filled up yesterday and there is about a half a tank left, push comes to shove I can steal gas from my pickup but I prefer to use non ethanol in the wagon.

I learned the fine art of the misappropriating gas at a young age and I'm pretty sure I can still do it. HRP

have your AAA road service take you - Ha! - a few years back when my wife's '50 Chevy PU needed a AAA flatbed - talked to driver about why AAA was keeping a close eye on transporting cl***ic rides - his experience with an example was a guy that had a '56 Chevy in his home garage that needed to go for "service" at a shop next to fairgrounds where a car show was going on - late in day he was contacted to pick up '56 again and return to owner's garage - yikes

 

The only time my cars will ever be on a trailer or rollback is if they are broken. HRP

 

I feel the same @HOTRODPRIMER. Now the tilt bed operators want combat pay for hauling our old cars because the motoring public want to do a photo shoot @ 65mph. On the interstate. Geez!

I've got a full tank(11 Gallons) and a 5 gal gas can in the trunk, should be able to make a hundred mile round trip so I'm planning on going. I sure hope they dont cancel it

 

I doubt very seriously they will cancel, The Geargoyles didn't let the pandemic stop them last year so I would think a gas shortage will not deter their determination, I plan on trying to get the Wagon filled up this afternoon if I have to visit multiple stations. HRP
