    hello all,
obviously a newbie to this here site, hoping to learn a little n be inspired a little by what some of you guys n gals are doing, finally been persuaded over to rods n customs after years of using up time n money on vws......guess everyone starts somewhere.........right, the lovely other half and i have a thing for wagons,a****st other things.......so when she fell in love with a '59edsel villager n bought it,i was way chuffed.........but has anyone out there ever applied a kinda late 50's/early 60's mild custom treatment to an edsel with any pics they could throw up? to be honest,i dont think it'd need a lot to make it real cool being an interesting car to begin with, dropping and a little touch here n there.........but any n all pics/suggestions welcome, thanks for your help.

    stay casual.......

There's a very nice customized black Edsel hardtop in the SF bay area. Sorry, I don't have a picture in the computer, but maybe somebody else does.

    50 fraud,
I know the one you are talking about. It's really clean, sits on a rake. The owner used to have a rod shop in the area. I can't find a pic though.

Here's a pic of another edsel from another thread.

Just messing with you I'm an Edsel fan myself. Particuraly the 58'. I was told a guy came along and bought the car that we got this E-475 out of and almost cried when he found out the engine went in a hotrod. ;) We would have bought the whole car ourselves but it was VERY rotten.

I'll see if I can dig up some custom Edsel pics for ya.

    Welcome

Any photos of the interior on that? Car looks super clean, and as far I'm concerned a girl can drive a 50's car in any color she wants as long as it's pink!

Haha. I'll try to put some up asap...but prepare yourself...it's immaculate!! It's all original and is kind of pinkish brown with white vynl and gold at the bottom of the door panels, it's gorgeous! I remember when I opened it up the first time I saw it and going holy canoli!! But yeah, I'll try to get some up soon!

Edsel gal,d'you know at all if there were rear skirts available for wagons or is it gonna be a case of fabricating them,i reckon they'd add a real nice low long look to our wagon.

I'm tryin'!! We decided to shave my door handles last night so I've got my door panels all pulled off and that's the best part! I'll try to get them on tomm or Fri. As for the skirts for the wagon...hmmm, never really looked but I do know that it took me MONTHS to find mine on Ebay. Won them for $200 in the last 30 seconds (what a rush!!). I kinda think you'd be better off fab'n 'em because even when you do get them they never fit right (pain in the ***!) Your idea sounds cool though! I know I'm slackin' on the pics but I'd LOVE to see the wagon as it progresses!! Keep in touch buddy!
