i'm trying to convert a rochester 2GC to electric choke. This is off of a later 70's chevy model if it makes a difference. Now, apparently there were some 2g's there were electric choke----the 2GE found on later smoggers like 78 olds omega, 78 monza etc. Borg Warner part # TH-306 matches for 78 omega, but the coil turns the opposite way (i ordered it and have it in my hand). As you may know, quadrajets won't work because they also turn the opposite way that you need. Any suggestions?
It's crimped on there pretty good and i don't know what i'm doing. So, i found that Standard Motor part #sv290 appears it will work since the coil turns in the opposite direction which i've ordered. In the meantime i welcome any other ideas/suggestions.
UPDATE Absolutely bizarre; i thought i knew how choke coils worked---that when heated up they will expand OUTWARD. i had ordered Standard Motor part # SV-290 thinking it would work----also forgetting to actually check the heat-style choke coil that i was replacing on the 2G. i installed it and after a few minutes that choke actually got progressively tighter. So i decided to try the Borg-Warner #TH-306 and yes this works fine. So in conclusion Borg-Warner part # TH-306 is what you need to convert a rochester 2G to electric choke.
c-10 I lookin' for this: Borg-Warner #TH-306 but coning up empty ... you sure on the p/n ? also how's the choke worki' for you ? thnks
I like the choke cable best.. Those electrics always seemed to make the car rev even when the engine was warm on a 90 degree day.. I'm not sure if this is true but I get the feeling a lot of guys think electric comes for free with a car but its not. That alternator can really put some drag on an engine.. Electric radiator fans are the worst offenders...

If I'm unsure which way a choke coil moves I warm it up for a few seconds with a bic lighter. Removes all doubt in less than 5 seconds.
Google: 2GC electric choke There are conversion kits available. This one is expensive, but is from a reliable source: https://quadrajetparts.com/electronic-choke-conversion-1963-2bbl-rochester-p-2635.html
