Good afternoon gents. I have visited the forum a few times and just joined today. Right now I have a couple 80's vehicles, but interesting rods and cars from all eras interest me. I do find odd engines quite fascinating and kind of have a thing for the Chevy inline-6. -Albert (captianworkbench)
Hi & welcome. I like those inline 6 engines also. My avitar photo here shows the little hot rod 6 in my 46 Chevy Coupe. Also have the little flathead 6 in my 50 Plymouth and it is stock. I just got in a set of headers for it and have a dual intake on order. Will get a pic of that when all comes in and gets installed. These 2 rides look stock driving down the Hwy but I like a bit of the 50's style go under the hood. I am not a fan of swapping the V 8's in these. At local shows the Chevy with those two big 2 bbl Weber carbs draws more looks the those with V 8's swapped in. You did not say and it is not on your profile page but what part of the country are you located at? Jimmie
Welcome, I’m quite the fan of sixes myself, but I’m a Ford girl! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I apologize for not including that I am in the central FL area. And I just brought home a 74 C10 stepside that has a 250 six in it. -Allbert
Ok.... so I was just completing my introduction. Why is the C10 off topic? Is it not old and "traditional" enough? I have seen posts about trucks on here so that can't be it. I was hoping to chat with members about some old school inline-6 builds, column shift three speed overdrives, multiple carbs, and things like that. Have I come to the wrong place? If it gives me any credibility, my first car in high school had a 235 bored .60 over, shaved head, offy dual intake, fenton headers, howards cam, and gl***packs. Is that any better?
Hi Captain. If you had looked at the head of the intro and read the very first post there you would know. That post stays there to explain the forum to those who come here. Jimmie LOOK HERE - https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-h-a-m-b-rules-guidelines.44274/
