Hi all, I am considering putting a 33 truck dash into my 28 Model A (moving fuel tank to trunk) and curious if anyone can tell me what the width difference or issues might be? I am in the process of trying to confirm the width to see if I will have to trim down or not - and will search the forum further to see if I can find the info but any opinions or experience very much appreciate it in advance thank you
Thanks - so I suspect the 33 dash will be wider - how much I wonder? Can’t get to my A for a few days to check If I have to narrow it I wonder if I can trim the ends rather than going through the center of the 33 dash Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Did that... memory says the A was about 3/8" narrower on each end... think it did not interfere with the mounting screw holes on the '32 truck dash... 25 years ago ?... i have one of each, if you need i can measure, but the top cross rails are wider than the bottom edges...
Thanks very much guys, my buddy right in the shop where I’m working on my car has a roadster with a 33 – in it and I totally forgot.! he sent me a couple of pictures today running a tape across the width of each as mentioned above the 33 Dash came in at about 41 inches and a quarter and yes sloppy it appears like the Model A dash is about a half inch or so shorter on each end - so with some minor adjustment I think it will fit quite nicely really appreciate the feedback guys thanks again
can't help myself... measured with the tape lying on the dash's top rail... sort of in a radius... a '30-'31 dash rail is 41.5" wide... '28-'29s are 41.75"... a gl*** '32 3 window is 42" ...
