Anyone have any recommendations for an axle chop job ? I have a Ford 8.8 that needs to be chopped and welded. Im in burbank in Los Angeles but I don’t mind traveling for a deal or quality. I have not learned how to weld and don’t want to learn on the parts of the power train lol!

    Dan......

Have you...say...checked the internet at all ?
Google should find you plenty of locations to shorten (sorry, chop !) your axle.

  9. That's a good one too, might be too far south for him. BTW, I didn't know they shortened there.....just rebuild.

Cooks is first on my list for driveline mods. Talk to Paul or Jim. They've done many axles, driveshafts and bolt pattern changes for me since the '60s when Mr Cook, (Cookie) ran the shop.

  11. I would think one could find a 8.8 that fits the car cheaper, than paying to shorten and respline the axles !

He just needs the housing shortened to match the short axle. He has the extra short axle and doesn’t need resplining.
