Thats really too bad! I hope every one invloved makes a speedy recovery.

Situations like that bring it all in perspective that building cars can be fun but safety should be as important as picking the right paint color.

    Hope every thing works out.

I am happy to hear that they will be OK.

It is really something to see the pictures and to think that you could live through that.

I hope you all can help her with her truck.

    Prayers for a quick recovery.

    Morning Guys and Gals,
This is bigsissy (Petejoe's daughter). I spoke with my "lil' brother" Matt last night around 8:30. He said Megan is doing well considering... she has 4 cracked ribs, the bad puncture wound in the back of her leg, and they are watching her spleen - which is why she will be staying for 2 to 3 more days. Matt said she is extremely sore, but they are pumping the Morphine! Matt sounded awfully tired himself. I mentioned to him about all the posts on the HAMB for him and Megan. He asked me to let you all know that he doesn't have access to a computer, but he will catch up as soon as he can. And he sends his thanks to all of you. They are both very lucky and they know it! So keep them in your thoguhts and prayers, as Megan has a long recovery and a long drive home once she is realeased.

As hotrodladycrusr said, Megan actually did stand up after she flew from the car. Matt said he yelled for her and when she stood up, he said "What are doing? Lay down! You don't know what is wrong!" She is one tough cookie! Get well Megan! We miss you at home!

I just got back from the nascar race and found this thread. YIKES!! Get well soon! Although I have never met them in person (talked through the hamb) I feel I know them. My wife is an ICU nurse at Akron city hospital and says that spleen injuries can look good but take a turn for the worst real quickly, so its really good she is remaining in the hospital a couple of days. Best wishes, get well soon!

Our family wishes Megan,Matt and family the best . Our thoughts and prayers are with you

Used to have a neighbor who was an ER Doc at U of L hospital. He had worked in several ER's, including residency at UCLA. He said U of L was probably the best trauma hospital anywhere.

Sorry to hear that. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry to see such a pretty piece of tin wasted, but I'd rather see everyone go home in good health.

Your so sweet!!! She wears girly type (thin strapped) tank tops alot with little skirts, so......if you see a Speed Week tank top that would be way cool for her. If not, my second guess would be a t-shirt and I would guess a size large.

My thoughts exactly, I would assume a stock T or A frame would have folded up and pushed everything in the wrong direction, even the front spring perch held up, Hats off to the builder/welder and I'm super glad that everyone is doing well. Megan we'll look forward to seeing you getting back on the truck project, it sounds like you have a great group of people with you down there.

I refuse to put seatbelts in my roadster. It would be as stupid as putting them on your Harley! If you roll over you will not have a chance. Thank God Megan had that chance. With belts she would not.

This is not a seatbelt vs no seatblet thread. Start a different thread for that. PERIOD

FYI... my thoughtful pops, Petejoe, had a great idea! He is having flowers sent to Megan's room and asked the florist to print out all the HAMB posts to include with the delivery. And the florist actually agreed to it!! How cool is that?!!! So Matt and Megan will be able to read all your well wishes soon. Now don't go and visit her and ruin the surprise!!!

After seeing the pictures of the T Megan is one lucky girl!!!! I to am hoping the best for a fast recovery for both Matt and Megan. What a scary deal.
Its even harder being far from home like that on both the patient and the family! Hopefully it will be a short stay and everyone will be home soon.
