Maybe someone could help me with this dimension. I replaced the transmission on my 50 dodge and would like to know the original location of the engine. Picture shows the measurement from the head bolt to the bottom of the green tape just above the reveal. About 9-5/8 is close but I would like to be sure. Thanks

Your front mounts, and rear clutch housing cross member is in the OEM position and bolted in the OEM holes?

Only thing original is the front motor mount location. It now has a turbo 350 trans.

Any I've ever seen, the top of the head is usually pretty level, front to back.
The turbo 350 might not clear the tunnel with the motor level though.
Here is the only firewall shot I have of my 48 Plymouth business coupe with its original motor still installed in the car. The 48 and the 50 are different bodies though. Gene

A good indication of intended engine height can be deduced from the carburetor mounting base on the intake manifold. It likely was level in the original placement of the engine at chassis ride height.
