I was surprised not to find anything searching. I'm pulling the engine and trans out of my model (not removing the body). Can they be pulled as a unit? Also, any suggestions on lifting points? The few times I've pulled A engines before I just wrapped a couple straps around them. That's never really ideal. Thanks Sent from my SM-T290 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Lifting fixture is the best and safest way to go. YES pull them out together. Remove trans top and pedals and they'll come out.
I've never pulled one complete, but I'm fairly sure it could be done. I have the lift hooks that screw into the spark plug holes. Makes it easy.
Thanks, guys. I'm thinking about pulling the manifold studs between cylinders 2 and 3 and bolting 1/2" plate there and at the water port on the other side. I think that would lend to good weight distribution. Just need to check shear strength on the hardware. Sent from my SM-T290 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
