Yeah, it cud be me, too! When I first laid eyes on that pic, I said, "That's me!" I can't see it clear enough to say for sure, but the clothes, build, hair, and military sunglasses wud have been exactly what I wud have been wearing. I probably wud have been looking at '39 Chevys, too, as I was building a '39 Chevy Master Dlx coupe at that time. Small world.
These are all 1977 Timonium. It's been a few years and I have a better scanner, with better software now. Enjoy.
I have a lot of Timonium photos also but these two I had on my phone that I sent to my friend Ron who has since moved to California . These photos the one is from our hotel parking lot where he was putting in his side windows for the rain on his 48 Austin which was the former Jim Oddy race car. The other was his Morris van before he owned it still owned by a gentleman from the Buffalo area . That was always a great event
I woke up about an hour and a half ago wondering what in the hell I was going to do until daylight. Found this thread and have been glued to the screen ever since. Only time I've seen that many quality cars was sometime in the early '80s at the fairgrounds in Columbus, OH. That 1974 Timonium get together must have been one outstanding event. I'm glad to see that there are so many of the people who were there at the time that are active on the HAMB. Going through the pics and looking at the cars was great, but I noticed a few other things as well. I didn't see one single tattoo on any of the women and there was lots of skin to check out. Come to think about it, if there were tattoos on the guys, they didn't show. After going back and checking again, I realized that there were absolutely no cell phones. All those pictures taken with real cameras on real film and except for Polaroids, which in my estimation gave generally crappy pics, the person taking the picture had to wait for the film to be processed to see if the pictures came out. I've enjoyed the pictures and comments from those who were there and thank all of you for taking the time to post them. It must have been a great time. Wish I'd been there.
Wish you had been there as well, Alan. Those were some really fun times. Glad that you are enjoying the thread...........Don.
