How to remove lower control arm bolts on Fatman Mustang ll style x-member? Mine are rusted? frozen in the xmember , can't get them to move. I've tried Kroil penetrating oil, air hammer, & impact wrench-no luck moving them! This 40 Ford has about 40,000 miles on it's front end & needs the bushings replaced, but can't get the bolts out. Please help, want to drive it to GG's in Des Moines in 2 weeks.

Have you tried a big wrench on the head while using an air hammer on it? You might give Fatman a call.

yes, very difficult to stay on the bolt though w/ air hammer. Fatman sez they have cut a hole for access into the k-member from the bottom & used heat on main bolt bushing holding the long bolt. I would like to NOT have to do that, if possible.

Bigger or better impact wrench. More torque. Longer wrench, cheater pipe on wrench. Wedge wrench handle against the ground and lower the jack on it. Cut the head off and pound out the remains. Torch if you have one. Grinder with cutting disk, sawzall, whatever you can get at it with.

When the fastener is rusted solid, you’ll be replacing it anyway, no matter what method gets it loose. Try not to destroy the parts the fastener is holding together.
