FD17F501-57C1-4530-A3A8-EEB83290EC14.jpeg I finally, after a 10 year wait, have the green light to make an offer on this pickup. This is the only pic I have but it should be in similar condition; missing hood, grille, radiator. The seller accepted that he’ll never get to it and doesn’t have a figure in mind for value. He simply sees it as parts.
I haven’t found any comparables to determine value. What do you think? He’ll likely take whatever I offer but I don’t want to steal it; granted, I’d like a deal but want it to still be reasonable.

  2. Well, we all know what the doors are worth if they're good. Front fenders are the same a s p***enger car so 'nuff said there. Frame is the same too (***uming it is truly a '32) so there's 5 grand in easy to remove parts to start with. Not to mention a "B" engine.

Not the actual truck, I think a grand would be generous for the one pictured, the frame could be usless sitting in the ground. HRP

If you're in a ***le state, ask if it has a ***le, that could make a big difference in the fair market price.

Lots of cars look great in photos on the internet, but only you can see how rusty the real parts are. Low price on what I see is $1,500, and high of $6,000 if the doors and other sheetmetal are all solid. If it's been sitting outside in Michigan very long, don't go poking your finger too hard through the lower areas.

E4D17340-C09C-44F5-B165-5EE07A05C3CD.jpeg Found another pic, looks like there are parts inside. The truck has been in that family most, if not all, of its life so I’ll have to look around a bit for other parts.
I took these pics 10 years ago. I’ll get there next week to look closer. I can get a MI ***le with a bill of sale and an appraisal.
    Thanks for your input.

  7. I’m with Danny on this one,,,,,,it looks like it has been on the ground a very long time,,,,,in Michigan.
Offer a decent price,,,,but don’t get in over your head money wise .
Tha5 will take a tremendous sum of money to get it going,,,,,look it over carefully.
And,,,,if you haven’t seen it in ten years,,,,,,who knows what it is now .
Might have been used for target practice,,,,or worse ?
Take a close look and inspection, ,,,,good luck .

    I wouldn’t go anything over 2000.
    These Trucks are getting rare.
I can imagine the frame and lower extremities are trashed laying in the dirt.
Doors, fenders, bed and cab are worth that much in parts.

There’s a lot positive going on there, it looks pretty damn straight for a truck from what I can see.
I’ve no clue on “making an offer”.

I'm with PeteJoe on this one. Sitting in that tall gr*** can wreck a car pretty quickly. Fair price would be $2000. And only if the majority of it is usable. Frame is probably junk. Check the engine block for cracks.

I can clearly see the bead at the bottom of the cowl and at least some at the bottom of the driver's door, by my standards, this thing is pretty decent. I'd want to know how good the frame is first, jack it up and check it out. There's likely numbers on the block and frame that match. My guess is the engine is junk but the crank and some of the small parts might be OK yet which would be a big bonus. Looks like it's got all of the fenders on it, too.

Easily worth $3K, maybe a lot more depending on how nice the rest of it is.

If the lowballer club could please point me in the direction of some of these in this kind of shape for a grand or two, that'd be great.

In comparing it with the 34 truck I bought, I found that the lower 6 inches may look ok but it is probably thin as paper and needs to be replaced. I also agree that if it has been sitting on the ground for more than 10 years the frame may not be worth using. I am going to say it may be worth 1500-2000 if the cab and doors are good. You can't really even hazard a guess until you get there and put your hands on it......or through it...o_O

Looking at the cowl bottom and drivers door bottom, if that were mine in New England I would ask 3800.00 for it, take 3500.00 and it would sell.

  20. If the doors are good scoup it up ! hard to tell from the outside.. I bid on one that was a internet sale the outside of the doors was good but once looking from the inside the hole bottom half was GONE !
Its a wonder the auction company didnt show pics from the inside sold for $6800 I bet the winning bidder was PISSED.

$1500-3k on that truck depending on doors

Whatever it looks like in the above posted pictures, it's definitely going to be a lot rustier now. So pretty hard to estimate without current, closeup pictures taken at all suitable places and angles.

I enlarged the picture as large as my laptop will take it and the bottom back of the door is gone as is the cab corner. You can see the frame under the cowl, but it seems to disappear under the door. It does have an early firewall that might be sought after in some circles. If you can do the metalwork, all the panels are available thru United Pacific. If you can't do the metalwork it might be cost effective to buy the new cab from UPI. If your get a good deal on it and don't want to tie up the investment as yard art you could part it out and make at least $1500.

I've picked up 2 big trucks in the past 5 years for $1000 and $1500. Granted they didn't have a p***enger car frame/box/rear fenders, but the rest is the same. One had a way nicer cab than yours and the other was about the same. The $1500 truck actually runs and yard drives. I'd say you are looking at $1500-$2000 there.

If the subframe of the cab is good thats a major plus. It cost me a small fortune in parts to rebuild the floor of my 31 A ccpu.

The acquisition cost of a complete frame up build project is a fraction of the actual dollars/time/energy/parts that will be spent, from start to finish.
Naturally the initial dollars spent just gets you in the game..do you have the dollars/energy/motivation/skills to go the distance?
$2k vs $5k initially is just a fraction which will be spent on the overall scheme of things.
If you are serious I'd think $2k, but would go up to $5k just because I wanted it..but would realistically in the back of my mind would hope the seller did me a favor and decline my offer.
    Good luck in your decision.

Michigan isn’t kind to vehicles that sit out in the gr***, but there is a lot of valuable parts if it was just parted out. Firewall, k- member, should have a heavy 32 axle, from what I see at swap meets and online those can pull close to $2k alone, depending upon how rusty everything else is the frame, doors etc add more.

    Hi

I've been buying cars and parts sight unseen for almost 50 years now and even though your pictures are from 10 years ago In sure it is still solid and probably suffers about 20% more deteriation than what is in pictures . Frame can be repaired and easily I'm sure .

Bottom line for personal $3800 . I bought a 34 truck same shape and more complete in 1975 for 200 and it rolled home . 3800 is fair . It may cost a grand just to move it

Ten year old picture and the door is definitely rusted out. It has only become worse in ten years. Engine with no hood has filled with water and froze for sure. Maybe I’m cheap, but I am around $1500 on this one. I would have to be blind in love, to pay more…. my $.02

That`s why nobody drives pickups. They are all priced to high. Seems everybody wants a rust free 80 year old vehicle.
