What is this hole with a spring loaded wire sticking out of it on a turbo 350 on the right front? Does anyone have the part that goes there laying around?

Thats where the detent cable connects to the transmission and runs to the accelerator linkage at the carburetor. This cable operates the detent valve inside of the valve body to operate the downshift system for the transmission.

Search Amazon or google using "th350 kickdown cable"

You may also need a throttle lever adapter to connect the detent cable at the carburetor, if this transmission was not the original style for the vehicle you intend to install it in.

You can plug the hole and run without kick down cable, it won't hurt the transmission like 700R4s.

Thanks to both of you. Now I can take care of that.
