Car is still around and currently for sale as well out in Cornelius, Oregon. It's a neat car to see in person, but it really needs the interior done back to a more era correct style. Its too street rod now.

  7. Lakes Body Shop in Lakewood used to do some interesting things. In the '80 their 'shop truck' was a current El Camino converted into a Pontiac via a Grand Am front clip and 'sculpted' quarterpanels to mimic the Pontiac. Problem was it was done with bondo and deteriorated within a few years...

Surprised no one has mentioned this. Built in around '55 by Jerry Berg of Bellevue it was featured in Hot Rod, Car Craft, Rod and Custom and some others.

I have it now. Not going into that, doing so on this site causes hate and discontent.

I think Joyce has made the car even more famous since Bub passed away. She is a great lady as well. Her and Bub went everywhere with it and she still drives the wheels off it.

This gasser style Lloyd was built by my friend Bob Johnson, it had a 327 and a four speed. I met him when I was in my early teens about 1970, he was with two other cars (all had beam axles) visiting a guy down the street from me, was quite a scene, there was a 59 Ford station wagon and a 67 M#s/ang, by my memory both had 2x4 FE engines.
It was the wheelstand that Bob did with the Lloyd that left quite an impression on me.

Hard to have a thread like this without contributions by Corno, Schoonhoven, Meaks, The Multnomah HR council and the Slo Poks. I am not worthy to post their contributions. I am no historian, merely a hot rodder and a fan.

As a clone is being built and almost complete now, but John Buchan's 56 Chevy "Madame Fefe" made the rounds in the early to mid 60s going through quite a bit of custom work. I see the car pop up in alot of the programs I have with Taboo.

That’s a name I haven’t heard in years. That Pepsi truck is still around.
