My car ownership covers 50 years this year also. Doesn't seem that long ago.

Cool on your dad.....our dad drove home a 35/36 mordor - I have a picture somewhere - a 4 door with a hot motor he said - as we begged him to keep it. My dad was an early flipper of cars and the service men on the base were a constant source for cars to flip. Glad yours has been kept in the family !

I dunno @Dooley, maybe it's kind of a coincidence, or just a little ironic...
That's me 50 years ago with my first hot rod build...and 50 years later, I'm finishing up a '36 Cabriolet...AND I was born in Buffalo NY;)

Great looking car! What is the proper name for the three p***enger Cabriolet, the top is so much nicer than the one with the back seat IMO. Bob

The cabriolet with a back seat I believe was called a club cabriolet which mine is not!
    20160619_153837-1 (Medium).jpg
I've only had mine since 2014 but... I did manage to drive it to the LARS in 2016! We covered nearly 6,000 miles in 15 days. I got my first 36, a chopped 3W, in 1983 and have had at least one ever since and, like you, all of them were drivers!
If it's too good to drive; it is too good for me.
BTW, I really admire your cabriolet and commend you for holding on to it all these years. My problem is I want to hold on to all of them!!

Actually ran into a guy this year with a Club Cabriolet... Mostly original, and he has had it since 59!

Never knew about the back seat. That’s interesting!
