From the (January 2018) History of the (Grand) National Roadster Show HOT ROD Magazine article by James Handy:

Rudy Perez' '26 T Roadster at the 1956 National Roadster Show.jpg
A typical entrant in the Street Roadster Cl*** at the 1956 National Roadster Show was this 1926 Ford on a 1932 frame, built by Rudy Perez. Under the Jack Hagemann hood was a 284 Cubic Inch Flathead with a three carb Offy intake, Offy 8.5 to 1 heads and a Vertex Magneto. The color was Ford Truck Goldenrod Yellow. The car was sold at the show and totaled in an accident in 1957.

It seems like lately every day open the HAMB and find another thread like this :( I guess it comes with old age, people our age p***ing, and now I know why my parents used to check the newspaper (before the interweb) starting with the obituarys, they were checking to see if any of their friends had past on in the night.

    RIP Mr. Perez

I didn't know Rudy. Didn't even know of him. But I see him smiling in every picture. Must have been a pleasure to know him.
    Bless Rudy, family and friends.

He strikes me as looking a bit like HAMB Andy here... if Andy had grown up. I bet Andy would have followed in his footsteps, too.

Rudy also freelanced for car magazines in the '60s.

A bit off topic for the H.A.M.B. ... but here's some photos he shot of Voss Boretta's "MISS BROADWAY '29" (with "Off Broadway" star, Carol Doda) for Bob D'Olivio at CAR CRAFT magazine:

Rudy started attending the Bonneville Nats in 1955.

Here's a few of his photos of the Markley Bros #360 Belly Tank Lakester in the pits at the 1966 B'ville Nats:
