16" tire to wheel fit?

does the 550-16 fit the 16x6 wheel pretty well on width?

That is close to being too wide a wheel- I was running 5-10 16" on my roadster on 4" by 16" wheels...
As long as tread portion of your tire still sets flat when mounted, you can probably get by....

 

yeah, that's pretty wide for that tire

 

Coker recommends 5 inch wheels for the 550-19 Excelsors I have but I had to mount them on 5.5 inch wheels as that was as narrow a wheel a the new So-Cal wheels come in. I wouldn't have wanted anything wider.

 

thanks. I was wanting to go 16x4 1/4 but didnt see them in price section of Wheel vintiques site. They did have them in another section that they were available.

 

Maybe with a radial but that is too wide for a bias. I am not saying that it would not fit but I would not even think about doing it.
