    Building a Model A on 32 frame with F100 steering box and Tardel's is sold out. Anyone have a source for a wedge before we fabricate one? JOHN 856 468 5107 Thanks.

    At the risk of beating a dead thread, does anyone know if Vern is still making these F-100 wedges? They're still sold out online as of this week. I emailed the address on the website, but wasn't holding my breath.

    I'd rather give my money to Tardel than Speedway...

    Do you guys have drawing, spacing between holes? I have new frame and would like to have it drilled like original.
    I have FoMoCo frame drawings but there are no dimensions mentioned for this area...only the center hole location.

    Maybe Mr. Tardel is selling them to Speedway and that’s why he’s out. Seen stranger things.

    I would guess that he sold them one...

    Haha! That happened to me a long time ago as well. I made them pay pretty heavily for it. Didn’t go after them legally, just got even with them! You are probably correct though.

    I want one for a F-1. I got one from Vern a long time ago. Is he still doing them?

    They're so brazen about it I could imagine them returning the item for refund!

    Hey, Kevin;

    This could be instructive & interesting. Would you mind putting out the story? If you can't, I understand. I'm no fan of speedybill nor his business M.O.

    For what it's worth, there are two reviews left on Speedway's sight for this item, and both of them say "did not fit".

    Oh, mine didn’t involve Speedway. I made some automatic trans parts that got pirated after I sold one to a fairly large company. I didn’t have a leg to stand on in the way of copy rights or patents. Too expensive! Just another life lesson.

    Way better off to cut the flange off and weld on a new smaller one to move the bow out and away from the engine.

    Isn't that basically what Tardel does with his version of the AV8 build?

    Thanks, Kevin;
    Was wondering about "got even w/them" part.
    Would you mind naming the Co.? I'd like to know who/which business to avoid, from practices like that. PM could do, if needed.
    TIA.

    Slightly over 6 degrees, but the best way to position the flange is to mock it up in the frame, with cowl, dash and column drop, then tack the flange in place. That way it fits your car.

    Thank you.Yes you are right. Small amount down there can make huge difference at the steering wheel position.

    That's correct, 3" flange, 36" to dash. .010" at the flange translates to .120" at the dash and an 1/8" off at the flange translates to almost 1-1/2" at the dash!

    That's how I did the F-100 in my '32 Sedan.

    Yah, but done correctly, it'd fit properly... :D . & not be Speedway.

    Hey Marcus,
    Yeah, I’d rather not. I’ve seen their name thrown around here from time to time. I just laugh when I see it. Pretty slimy business practices if you ask me. They even copied my directions. Just put their letterhead on it. That was probably 30 years ago anyway. Thanks for the interest though and yeah, I’ve never done any business with them obviously.
