Would a build thread for a lakes modified type roadster with a gl*** body and disc brakes be acceptable on the HAMB?
Some will cry about the disc brakes but i bet 75 percent of the guys on here haul *** in fibergl***. You will need to keep things as traditional as possible as to not get flamed out.
Like Dan said, as long as you keep a tradition theme you shouldn't get flamed. I say enjoy your build either way. While I run 42 Ford juice brakes on mine, there are kits to cover up those ugly disc brakes. Either way it's your car. Build what you want.
Thanks for the input. I will put it under general discussion. I had not thought about that. I got started on the car and got side tracked on A model pickup that I have finished as a hot rod gets. I hope to start on the T soon. Been building it in my head.
It's rather like when you were a kid and never let anyone take a photo of you doing anything that your mom might slap you up along side the head for. I am 74 and there are no photos of me anywhere in the world that show me with a cigarette in my hand or mouth even though I did smoke a bit when I was young and when I was in Vietnam. Both of my parents even though divorced didn't like the idea of any of us kids smoking so don't say anything and don't show a photo of it works to keep from getting slapped alongside the head in more than one way. Side note, about a year or so ago my wife of almost 52 years piped off in front of my mother and says "oh yea, he used to smoke years ago when we were young". To my mother who had just said I never smoked. Wife isn't known for having much common sense though. That bs story aside, just show a batch of photos of the disk brakes or make a big deal of them being on the rig.
