I am in the process of getting closer to wrapping up my complete rebuild and need to find a shifter. Id like to find a lokar or similar dealer that can sell me a gated style case mounted shifter setup for a 700r4. Thanks
I called Lokar and they helped me with the model numbers of exactly what I wanted then I called Summit and got a rep on the phone. He created new summit part numbers for the stuff I wanted and they showed up drop shipped from Lokar. Easy peasy
A quick look, it looks like the Lokar gated may only be available for floor mount, not case mount. Call Lokar to confirm.
Unless new part released in last few years there case mount are not complete gated , ( only P,R,N) . The one I have is over 10yr old . I really do not know why they do not make it that way , So I regarded mine, welding & File .
Yogi's there in Iowa is a dealer for Lokar , i bought one from them i do prefer Gennie Shifter BUT that was not the question you asked
Go to carbuffnetwork.com/news/gated-automatic-transmission-shifter/ Lokar's gated shifter is made by Clayton Machine Works. Although floor-mounted, there are case-mount and cable adapters available.
Try Pace Performance. I'm wondering if a gated shifter, particularly one with a long handle, might rattle more.
If you computer has your regional location in it (mine thinks it is over about 180 miles from me for some reason) clicking on distributors on their web page header will give you the dealers in your area to pick from Lokar Performance Products
He mentions that i can get a case mount kit but im having trouble locating where i can order everything i need. I want a setup like on the right only with a shorter lever
Also im not opposed to running a Gennie shifter. Just looking for a gated style (not lokar ****on style) Any Gennie dealers on here?
Just go to their website and order directly from them: Gennie Shifter I've bought two for my cars and really prefer them over the other brands. (I have a Lokar ****on shifter, too.)
Haven't had to try their customer service in the 23 years I've had mine, so I can't say. I like their detents and lack of a ****on!
