I have been puttin this thing together for about a year. Today i rolled it out and it looks just a little on the tall side. what do you all think.
...if you mean is it sittin' a little tall in the saddle,...yeah. Front end is too high, and the wheels stick out a little too far. Same for the ***-end. I'm thinkin' by now you really would like me to go away... ...but I love G***ers!
...yes that is better. Is there a way to narrow the front and rear axles a bit?...tuck the front wheels inside the front fenders?
Klazurder, nailed it. ****it, anyway that thing looks good. But then all I realy want is a g***er, swap for my first borne child?? No?? Ok then, and the neighbours kid? Sell em on e-bay. Doc.
Nah its fine.... Just needs bigger slicks onna back and skinny's with spokes onna front. And headers out the fenderwells. You like it we love it. VonDad
Too high? Is there such a thing? I like it the height it is, just poke some headers out of those fenders to fill the gap!
forgot......no chop.....(seems like ever early willys is chopped....) lower the rear...but go to a taller tire.....to fill up a little bit of the wheel well.....brandon
Personally i think the photofake is to low. im thinkin 3 inches all the way around and some fenderwell headers. Hey, if anyone wants to, photofake me a light blue paint job with some sponcer stickers. Jim
I thought those might get your attention. Problem is I'm still computer challenged, think I'll try scanning the rest and email to you. Hopefully it'll be large enough to read. Plus you'll need to start searching for a June 1967 Popular Hot Rodding. OK,done.Let me know if those came through and are readable. If so maybe you can share them here.
I like that car. My front clip and rear fenders are from a real old g***er, and they were narrowed in the front and bobbed in the rear. That is why it looks so wide. i could just re widen the front fenders I guess. it just seems like a shame to un-do what was done "back in the day."
Pop in "Hot Rod" and watch it again. You DO have a copy, right? That 41 was right on stance-wise. Just my .02 I'm GREEN with envy...
Hey Jim, Looks good! Love the G***ER stance. Zap me photos and info for the next magazine. Ernest www.G***ERmagazine. erntestmcintyre@comcast.net (best email fort photos)
Works for me ,i like them dangerous lookin.I would put some bigger meats on the back.I hope you are gunna drive it on the street .Alot of people think my Ranchero has hydros ,like one of them rap video cars.I usually play along with them and tell them it does .Whats the world coming too ?
Does anyone have a photo (my scanner is busted) of the 40 Willys Pickup named Silver Dollar? That thing sits pretty damn high.
Here's a couple pics of an early Willys g***er that runs around Bakersfield. The owner drives it to and from work most days out of the week... There are a couple more pics of the car in my album. Jeff also has an online journal of the build-up of his Willys... http://hotrodders.com/projects/001/01.html -Troy
i have studied that car. I have always loved it. not to into the fake blower, but the rest is WAY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!
