This is a 1950 Dodge half ton Woody wagon. It had been sitting in a barn since 1983.Dont know what we will do with it.
I would imagine it is truely a RARE vehicle ... Some Dodge folks would really want it and be willing to pay for the privilege of owning it ... Hemmings Ad for sizable cash profit ...
you lucky SOB. if you dont like woodies, sell it to someone who does. Is the barn pic the same car as the outside car. one looks a lot more apart how about more info I love woodies, but that was one of the uglier ones.. wish I could own a wood crate
Yes,same car. After we got all the parts back to the shop we loosly assembled the cowl to the body and hung the doors. There was 3 pickup loads of parts.
Send it to Chip to get overhauled. Seriously, man that things titties and beer! Dig it. Build it, do it right. Good score.
Always thought these were ugly as sin but if you did something like section and chop one and screw with the hood a bit they could be really awsome. It would be killer to build, good luck with it whatever the case.
With the rarity of these woodies, and considering how well this one held up, plus they're kinda ugly, I'd either put this one back together stock or sell it off to someone who will. I can't see it being a cool hotrod, but I could see it being cool all stock again with the old paint and wood all cleaned up. Neat find, never seen one like it before.
It may not be a Deuce roadster, but it can certainly be made into a cool ride. Just dont put a friggin SBC in it.
You suck, thats a damn kool find. If I had the cash I'd be hounding you till you sold it to me. later shawn
ditto, Sell her off to someone who will restore her to her ugly past life. She is a true find and your lucky, or the thing is lucky you found her. Good Luck
I've only seen this model of Dodge in sales ads, never seen one in real life. This has to be a very rare truck, i'd hate to rod this, but after seeing the yellow woodie, I say go for it. David
I'm a bit confused, is the vehicle in the original post that is missing the front clip the same one stacked in the back of two pickup trucks? If it is it is too late to advise you not to move a car that way. This will take an easy 20 thousand dollars for the rewooding alone, flip it for a profit and put the money into something you love.
Mazdaslam.. thanks for the pics.. I'm only jealous that you found it and I didnt.. I'd love to have it.. And I'll gladly give you twice what you guys paid!.. (see I am a good guy..) Keep an EYE out for me, I may have to come check it out this week.. my 47 needs a good roadtrip.. Jeff
I Totally agree with Leadfooted! Build it!, This is one of those finds that will have you kicking yourself in the rear for years to come for not building! Trust me, i had a really decent '29 Roadster pickup in the early '80's i sold because i let someone convince me it shoud be restored, now i get sick, everytime i see one!
It is the same,we assembled the cowl and doors after we got it to the shop.It was only a short ride from where we found it to where we have it now.The wood is in amazingly solid condition.
Jeff,it would be great if you could come up to see it.You will love it.My EYE is out ,ready and waiting! We need to be paid with only untraceable ONE dollar bills .
My god, how much salt do they use around there?! I can't believe that red Toyota can even hold itself together!
Ha!! my red Toyota rules!!! It has been jumped about 3 feet in the air and has been layed over on the drivers side once .......The plastic bedliner is now a structural member of the bed .
Structural member of the bed!!! That cracked me up. I was kinda awed at the rust holes myself. F-it, it's a work truck, who cares what it looks like. You get rep points just for driving that heap.
