Loudbang, that one is amazing! The symmetry is crazy, someone spent a LOT of time with measuring tape and probably some lasers to get it that straight and even.

 

Wow. Amazing. Some of these I just don’t like aesthetically, but even on those ones, the talent of the painter is staggering! So much goodness in this thread!

 

I can't figure out how they did the "fuzzy" panels right down the center of the middle.

 

Looks like either marbleizing (laying plastic wrap on wet dark paint) with some additional airbrush blending or airbrushing thru/over lace held slightly off the panel. There is a bit of a left front to right rear angled pattern to it, which would point to the second guess.
Lots of perfect layout followed by VERY artistic application.

 

Anybody got any ideas? Dribble paint?

That 40 ford pickup has to be my favorite pickup. Love the stance and chop!

 

Banger, I get the vibe that it's bare metal with some sort of etch or pickling, with a clear coat over it. Notice the discoloring around the obvious welds (hood and roof A pillar chop), although that means the other mods like the door handles and the rest of the chop must have been perfectly metal finished.
It could also be a silver base with a root beer candy thinned very heavily, and applied with a freakin' spray bottle.
If you check out cold war motors youtube channel, he is working on a Model T that is OG paint, wear, overpaint and some surface rust. He has sanded and buffed it to a nice shine. Check at around 40 minutes in...

IMHO this truck is too darn straight with mods blended in to be pure patina, but until the owner comes on and explains, it's all guesswork.
