    There are few more dangerous failure opportunities in a custom car than breaking a front axle by hitting a pot hole at 60 mph.

    You can do an FEA on the axle, but it will mean little because, in particular, you don't know the history of the metal or the welder.

    Better to stick with a Ford axle - they have been thoroughly tested in the field.
