Well I was just up at the shop checkin out my '53 chev which is in for some extensive chassis work to lay out on the ground. Anyways my body mounts are completely shot, i mean you can see through them lol. Anyways I did a quick search and all i found was body mounts made by SoffSeal the weatherstripping company.. http://www.soffseal.com/SearchBySection.asp bout quarter of the way down 66.60 a set 49-54 chev sedan. Or does anyone else know where i can get some repopped body mounts.. i really don't want to make them.. any help is great.
what do you need, the rubber cushions that SoffSeal sells, or do you need some of the metal parts? if the metal parts, do you need the ones on the body or on the frame?
i don't know if they have them, but they have about everything else. they also sell used stuff, so maybe they'll cut some off of a parst car for you. here it is www.nationalchevyassoc.com
When I raised the 1950 body up off the frame all that was there were four black rubber strips about 2 inch +/- wide & about 12 inch +/- long. Plus when I was unbolting the body I thought I had found the remains of some long dead animal. Turns out in that cars past someone had shoved one of those wooly car wash mits up in between the body and the frame. Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy
i think you might be just as well off having them built from scratch. i say this cause you said you were having frame work done to lay frame, so i assume you are removing the K-member in favor of something that tucks up higher, if this is the case, the mounts you speak of will need to be cut as well to not hang down. unless i'm misunderstanding something.
ok thanks alot for the links and input i appreciate it.. im gonna try and remove one of the mounts when it gets back and duplicate them.
