fellow hambr's, This 1940 Ranchero was found somewhere on the webernet and posted here on the "Vintage shots from days gone by" tread. But please look close. The ride is amazing...Chopped w/Carson style or real Carson top, Duvall Windshield, Custom cab, Roadster style doors, stretched fenders 2 the running boards and on and on. Is this it a support tow rig for LA's Midget racer era ?? We need more info please. I've attached a few more rigs fro that era as examples
The 2nd car posted https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Southern_California_Plating_Company's_1935_Ford and back in the day, folks pulled a lot of stuff with cars. Just watch some vintage hwy films.
Anybody have the link 2 Rik Hovings "photoshop" of this truck ?? I just spent an hour on his site and didn't find it?? thn**x
It took me about five minutes to find it the other night and it is in Digital Restyling under the Custom Cars dropdown Digital Restyling '40 Ford Pick-Up - Custom Car Chronicle It isn't real extensive though. I just wish I could afford to turn him loose with the ideas for my truck.
Follow customcarscronicle on IG https://www.instagram.com/p/CRQbpt-HUOK/?utm_medium=copy_link He posted it there in color. i may have the customRodder magazine where Steve Stanford’s render showed up in, from the 90’s. It looks like a giant Mullins trailer as a bed. the question would be is it a sedan door or reg 2 door length and did the the wheelbase get shortened
Ok fellows this info is more than AMAZING. So lets move this search up a notch. I know about the So Cal Plating Push/Pull/Tow Phaeton/Sedan and the Atlas Chrome Plating Pick-up and Panel Trk. I found a picture of somebody's "Convertible" support vehicle and trailer on a used car lot. There has got to be more of these Amazing Custom Support vehicles. Anybody have anymore pictures ????
