I love the stance! It looks like you are about ready for a steering box...and it's almost ready for you. I'll try to get it wrapped up real soon. Neal
Update: Got the bows finalized and used a pile more tape to get an idea what the top will look like. I’ve got a rear window that should fit perfectly. I also dropped some old 6v gauges into the dash(s) to see how I liked the look. I was uncertain about how to layout the gauges in the model 40 dash….32’s have a much easier dash to deal with!!!! I also got my steering box from Neal and cut the perfectly restored column drop to get the column and box where I wanted it. Hopefully the 17” wheel will fit under the planned tonneau cover without a bump for the wheel. FLiP
This is a great thread, and the detail you’re sharing is really helpful—especially your work getting the frame kick up to fit the body in the rear. Thanks.
ATT: I am a terrible sheet metal guy(sketchy home fab to follow) I needed to make a flat floor and thankfully @claytonshotrods helped nudge me into making it and I’m happy with the way it’s headed. Clay and @holmbuilt_hotrods helped me roll beads and brake the pieces to make it happen!! The driveshaft tunnel needed to be subtle so I heat bended a mellow arc and @holmbuilt_hotrods broke the flange for me….the sketchy part was having to put a jack between my table and a beam in the garage so I wasn’t lifting the table while making my bend. I’ll finish weld it once I move onto the over the axle portion. Many thank yous to @claytonshotrods and @holmbuilt_hotrods ❤️❤️❤️ .
Other than tackling the floor today I’ve been knocking off a list of little things with really not that much to show. I hope to have some more significant progress to see soon!! thanks for looking, FLiP
Got the taillights landed, had to go with a little European influence!! Wanted to run a set of these for years!! …….what ya guys think? FLiP
Are you planning on straightening the grille hanging on the wall for it, or do you have another one? Great work so far!
No that’s from the 3w I use to own after I T-Boned someone running a red….car got fixed and driven for a few years and I sold it about 15yrs ago. this car has a really nice grill that needs to be plated or possibly just painted. FLiP
Looks good. The irons on my 34 Roadster are chopped. The top wouldn't fold properly until I installed the correct pivot bolts. I have bolts in place of original rivets - which are being changed. I have a spare set of the top irons made by Beorn if you need parts or a guide.
