also picked up some more cozy digs to haul the car in 215338900_505921810676999_5368542448781993283_n.jpg 213184496_505921917343655_5801298461839742740_n.jpg 211515853_505921887343658_5285190369834941054_n.jpg 224600068_519995582602955_5350429207788007952_n.jpg

Can't get any better than that!
Damn, I want to run like that. Still dialing my car in, the tree still intimidates me. You just go out there and chop it down! Truly in awe here.

I'm no pro by any means, but after putting a few hundred runs on the car, I can tell you 95% of what happens at the tree is direct result of what happens in your head. If you want to get good, it's all about seat time, consistency, and soliciting advice from guys that know what they are doing. Most of the guys in the know hold their tricks pretty close - the guys that don't know shit are always the first ones to come running over to tell you what you did wrong.

Bracket racing isn't the most exciting thing, but it will give you the opportunity to make a shit ton of passes and hone your skills against REALLY good drivers. Its all about building that mental muscle memory and doing everything exactly the same every time. Find your baseline and then make adjustments off of that, don't change your routine every run - make small minor adjustments like every 5-6 runs.

When I go racing for the weekend, I enter as many classes as I can just to get seat time in. I'll run against anyone just for the practice. As you get better, you'll go more rounds and eventually find that you can't run more than 2 classes in a weekend.

    Have fun with it

Thank you for the advice. One thing, I'm not afraid to ask questions. My experience has been racers are helpful. Yep, doing the same thing consistently is hard. I sit in the car in my shop and "practice" staging and running through the gears. Wife thinks I'm just in there making race car noises but it has helped.

  7. Love the car. 60 ft. times are great. Even the seats look comfy. Bracket racing is the most fun from the seat. 10,000 different ways to lose, most self directed. You’ve got the head thing covered. Most important thing to going rounds. Have fun.

I keep telling myself, run your own race, run your own race - and then I lose focus on the top end and try to peddle the guy and end up losing. LOL. It takes serious discipline to run your own race.

My hat goes off to those guys that end up in the semis and finals every week.
