Just curious if anyone out there had similar bad luck on Coker American cl***ic white wall radials.. first the white walls hairline crack all over… being I have a rat rod look I really didn’t bother contacting them.. all four did that.. then this week I looked and now this… I’m not impressed with their quality at all .. I’ve contacted them on this one as so far nothing yet.. at $320 a pop I expected the tread to go before the sidewall .. the tread is perfect micro cracking a month after I got them.. just a heads up

Buy DiamondBack radials. Same price, better satisfaction. Sorry to hear of your bad experience, but plenty of reports of similar experiences with Coker tires.

Wow! my Coker American Cl***ics just turned a nice shade of brown. That looks terrible.
    No more Coker's for me.

The issue of terrible quality from Coker has been well do***ented here and virtually everywhere else. While there is some truth to old saying that where there's smoke, there's fire, when it comes to Coker, the inferno is visible to anyone who bothers to look.

  6. If you want wide whitewall tires, it doesn't matter which manufacturer you choose as right now NO ONE has them, at least in certain sizes. My friend Mitch had a Coker blowout on our way home from the Leadsled Spectacular a few weeks ago. He was very disappointed as the tires weren't that old and looked to be in good condition.
He called around and no one has a 225-75-15 tire right now. Everyone told him the tires won't be back in stock until November. He's not real happy as he has to cruise with one skinny whitewall on the rear of the car for the rest of the summer. E

  8. That's exactly what I've been telling him, but he's worried that everyone will notice the mismatched tire and give him a bad time (lol)! The car sits plenty low and when at a show you can't get back far enough to see the skinny white under the skirt. I told him to just drive it and enjoy the rest of the summer. E

Shane you are not alone. If I knew how to post pictures I would show you the JUNK Coker's I had on my '46 Woodie. At about 12,000 miles, all the outer edges of all four tires was worn off, as if I had a severe under inflation problem. I faithfully check my air pressure and kept them at Coker's recommended 35 PSI. I even had the car aligned TWICE! Then the whitewall blisters started. I had one about the size of half of a tennis ball. When I showed the Coker people pictures of all four tires and the bubbles at HERSHEY, I was told that it "WAS MY PROBLEM, COKER TIRES ARE FOR SHOW CARS, NOT DRIVERS". I now have B.F. Goodrich wide whites on the car with about 22,000 miles on them and they look brand new. DON'T BUY COKER JUNK!!!!!

Diamond backs, radials with whitewall vulcanized to a black wall tire does the exact same thing. HRP

Perhaps that was an anomaly, the Diamondback tires in my Avatar were 16 years old when I replaced them due to age and one came apart, but the vulcanized white walls still looked perfect.

I have to agree. No tire brand is going to be perfect. The Diamondbacks on my Olds have some real age on them and they still look and ride great. They're probably 15 years old as well. I like the BF Goodrich WWWs I have on my 61 Olds as well. My Cokers still look OK but legit ride like they're ovals.

Go to one of the big tire distributors and you'll find good white walls in stock. My brother purchase a set of Coker wide whites from ATD and got them in 4 days. ATD is local to us.

American Cl***ic Radials are not Coker Cl***ic Radials. I have the latter on my '34 coupe (see my avatar) and they are superb. I have over 10,000 miles on them and the ride is another world compared to the bias belted I had on before. Perhaps the only slight beef I have with them is that I cannot get them to come up as brilliant a white as the bias ones. Coker Cl***ic Blackwalls with cream rims next time for me - no question.

Nor hardly, but one tire was on the left front and the other right rear. HRP

I just ordered a pair of BFG Silvertowns/Cokers for the front of my 34 Chev sedan. I thought they came out of the same mold and were sold under both names.

As sea freight and containers are a covid mess at the present, we had the tyres flown out at NZ$9 per kg. Each tyre weighs 9kgs. so thats over US$100 for freight before we get taxed.

    Anyone remember these ?

I remember coming across them changing tires in the '70's. Go between the bead and rim. Can't be worse than the vulcanized ones popping off. Port-A-Walls :) Mike
