There is one like that near me, in a rural area. They even have their own tree-type bucket truck to do painting etc. They finally got restoring all the way around the house done in stages, then the part they finished first, already needed redoing AGAIN. It even has a very large caretakers house out back, that is bit bigger than a normal sized house, ......to also care for makes me think about just how wealthy the original owners were...back when poverty was common. Just to pay for constant maintaining/heating..never mind the building costs.

Here is a picture of our brick house built in 1866. It's 1 1/2 stories tall sitting on 15 acres and about 4 miles from the closest town. It sits about 600 feet off of the road so it is somewhat private.
Here are a couple of pics of mine, built circa 1910. Sporting a fresh paint job. Whew! Painting a multi color house you realize why so many of these old houses were white washed back decades ago!
Home is a small 1923 cottage (at Halloween) that I completely rebuilt. Not much to look at from the front... The "money shot" is out back...on the Chenango River
The Dark colored house in the first pic I grew up in. In the second pic it is seen from the other direction between between the cattle.
Here is ours with the porch replaced. It was torn off in the late 1960's. First photo is from 1920's when my great, great grandparents lived there. We rebuilt the porch in 2017.
It is an old thread, but a great one! Here's a pic of my house. It's a 1904 Dutch Colonial. We bought it in 2004, and are only the second owners on title. The original family built it, and it has been in the same family until we bought it. The garage is down the driveway on the left and is 900 sq.ft. and very unusual for our neighborhood.

WOW... Talk about having your cake and eating it to! Great use of an old building, room to grow and very cool digs.
(but we have all this stuff that I love to collect and no one ever stops by to see it!) I wish I still lived in Cleveland. You should have a car show/open house on you property!
