Many other social groups I looked into didn't have recent activity like we have in this group. I can understand eliminating groups where the latest posts were from a few years ago. It will be a shame to see the wealth of information shared by our group go away.

Exactly. Most groups are inactive to say the least. Jeff has done a great job keeping this one going and all the members are great here. I hate to lose the knowledge and group here.

I am the moderator of the old farts page and it is pretty active but not near as active as this group, this really ****s because I know Jeff has put his heart and soul into the group, we got a few more months but if there is anything you want to save you better get busy, nothing in the social groups will survive the update.

There is so much information that needs to be saved here.

There is still the original '54 Ford Club of America which I am the administrator and Jeff is very active there ( http://1954ford.com/forum/)
but that doesn't help the other guys. HRP

That stinks, it will be a challenge to search and download all useful info. Is it possible to for the moderator to somehow lock in the information so it is viewable but not active?

If any of you guys that are really computer savvy can figure a way to move this entire Group to another site PLEASE help save us from doomsday. It's beyond my expertise to do something like that.

OH< MY< this ****s. How can we download all the information that is in this group? So much help will be lost. Can't they just stop the inactive groups? This one gets new posts on a daily basis. If it were not for this group, I'd never be getting my wagon done. Can we move it to another platform?

One thing that many of us also may take for granted at times is that the Alliance Members likely have more say in how Ryan chooses to deal with this site. I figured if I was going to throw in my 2 cents and express my concern of the social groups going away, I also better renew my alliance membership. $50/year is nothing for all the information we have here as well as opportunities for cl***ified, discounts from Alliance Vendors, etc. Anyway, something I don't always think of, but this site overall really is a wealth of information and resources.

I'm tired of Ryan's heavy handed BS. Keep the cars and talk strictly traditional or the goon squad berates you. But he can continually upgrade the platform that takes more time to learn how to navigate his latest zoom. If the forum goes I'm gone. It's the best part of this site.

I don't think insulting Ryan is helping our cause. The rules of the forum are quite clear. It's not for everyone, just us weirdos that appreciate the old ways.

Change is a constant in the world of IT and stuff gets obsolete quickly. I'm sure he is not doing this to be difficult or try to drive anyone from the forum. His latest posts, after several members of this group weighed in, indicated he would look into accommodating us in some fashion.

This would be a hard change to accept. This forum is the main attraction for me currently.

There was a suggestion on the main board and Guthriesmith eluded to it also. If we all became Alliance members, that might possibly save the forum. I know a lot of us are retired and on fixed incomes, but $50 per year?! That's $4.16 per month or 13 cents per day! For me.....I could s****e that up! Well worth it for the information I've gleaned, not only from this forum but also the main board as I was building my roadster. I don't consider it bribery, just supporting an endeavor, and a man (Ryan) who's put forth untold amounts of labor, time and finances to found and retain/administer the HAMB over the years. Sound off! What do you guys think?

I'm in. And, actually did that yesterday. I hadn't been an Alliance Member for probably 10 or more years, but figured if I was asking for something like this, it might carry more weight if I was pitching in.

Been using the forum for a couple years. It’s a wealth of information for us rookies trying to save money. Jeff and numerous others have been a tremendous help. Haven’t been on much in the last few weeks , so I’m just catching wind of this. I’d become a alliance member to save this forum, its great. My first experience on the HAMB was a deleted post and a scolding for asking a 5.0/AOD computer question. If this forums leaves and all the info in it I’ll be leaving also. Us one year wonder 59ers don’t have a lot of places to go. Thanks to everyone who’s helped out in the past. Power in numbers let me know if y’all think it would save it

Done, been meaning to do it for a while. I'm just a procrastinator.

True,if it doesn't save our Group we will loose all the knowledge and build information we spent the last 12 years sharing with each other and lot of folks won't want to take that gamble. Like most other forums they tend to favor anything Chevy related above our Fords and that is kind of scary. When they did that upgrade a few years back we also had a huge file with plenty of build photos from our members many of them were step by step and sadly we lost them all with no way to recover them and the moderators were no help and pretty much blew me off when I asked if there was way to get it back. I would like to see some ***urances from the top br***.

Ok I will do the Alliance again, but I am somewhat dubious as to how it will influence his decision.

i have not been a big contributor since joining this group but i do check almost daily and add little bits when i can,
i would hate to see this great site with a terrific bunch of knowledgeable people come to an end, i certainly hope a way is found to keep it going, as previously said jeff has done a fantastic job of getting us to this point, especially with all the info collected over the years, would be a crime to lose it.
i look forward to a workable solution being found for the good of all

I also will be leaving for good if this social group goes away. I would also like some ***urances that it will stay before I spend my $50, I have been burned by several magazines going away long before my subscription ran out and parts not received in this last years covid F#*Ked up mess as companies went out of business. The information here has been great and I hope I have helped a few people as well. Big shout out to Jeff for what we have, I would pay for a printed copy of the sticky pages if that is all we can save. Mark

I wouldn't think we could ***ume that becoming an Alliance Member guarantees anything as far keeping the groups. I just figured that it was worth $50 to me to support the HAMB considering all the information I have learned here as well as all the great friends I have made because of this place. I also figured it couldn't hurt when we are asking to keep something that apparently adds cost and complexity when we have benefited from this place for free for years. Heck, I have paid that much to enter a car show that gave me a dash plaque or something. I just don't think I would go into it with expectations that may not be met in the end.

And, thanks again for all you have done for this specific group @JeffB2 I hope it can all continue on somehow in the new format.

One of my pet peeves is not being an alliance member. It takes a lot of time and money to keep this going and I'm pretty sure it's been $50.00 since I joined in 2006.

I've never used the discount but I have certainly gotten more than 750 bucks worth of information and friends.

I either pay or donate to every site I use to get information on all my OT cars as well.
