For those of you that have never gone to Bonneville, You owe it to yourself. Its an amazing place with amazing people and cars... Heres a few pics from this years ongoing event...... ENJOY !
Here's a video I tried taking . This car was at over 200 mph at the end of the first quarter mile. You cant see the whole track from any one spot because of the curvature of the earth.............. http://people.montana.com/~kaparich/b.MOV
Sweet pics, I hear that the Kiwi Flathead car upped its record. Stolen straight from Noddy's email. Hogan Martin & Rea ran 187mph on first run today - this is better than their record. Back up run tomorrow morning for the new record - engine running very rich - heaps more power yet. 192mph - all good. New record 189mph
I was just going to post a request for Bonneville pics from anyone who attended this weekend. Thanks for sharing your pics. RGV
Me Toooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanx Chaz I gotta say that I was going through my Bonne withdrawal. I opted not to go due to committments that I have here, It would be real irresponsible of me to just leave my work in the hot shop & take in a few days of racing while peoples orders should be filled. A 200MPH club member stopped by yesterday afternoon & we both said @ the same time why didn't we go . He has kids & commitments also that actually come 1st. But hopefully he & I will be there next year with a car in tow out to put a lil salt on the table- speed table that is!. Kevin P.S. Chaz, post lots more pics!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the pics. It is amazing what speeds the cars get to considering the conditions. I have worked on an orange dodge daytona that you probably saw out there; the car weighs 6000 lbs. and holds a couple of records.
Kevin, If I get my girls to change their birthdays from the 10th and the 20th of August, to say the 10th and the 20th of September - just for next year.... Would I be able to come with you to B'ville..... please???
great pictures, thanks for posting them. is there any info on the 32 sedan in your first pic? ie. cl***? its pretty much what i envisioned my 32 to look like at the lakes.
Next year for sure , I was going to put it on the before I die list . But ENOUGH!!!! next year . Great pics ,thank's alot . Buzz Bomb
I missed the HAMB tent, or Phantom HAMB tent. I'll be posting my pics tomorrow, just got home 10 hr drive back!!
Great Pics! Thanks for taking the time to post them. Below is a link to the SCTA day-by-day results and pics. http://www.scta-bni.org/Bonneville/Speedweek 06/results.htm
I've been following the JCB Diesel Max streamliner for a while. I thought this has got to be a record of some sort for the biggest tired push vehicle ever at the salt. http://www.scta-bni.org/Bonneville/Speedweek%2006/debbie_sat_2/CIMG0723.JPG These Brits are really going after the record for the LSR for diesel streamliner.
I am making next year's B"ville my goal to have my rpu done and drive it there. Thanks for the great pics, keep 'em coming. Does anyone have that link to a picture posted a year or two ago of 2 rods after the rain?
