It's not there yet, I'm separating it into groups, Engine, Suspension and so on.

If we, or me, are still here in 10 days when I get my monthly check, I too will become an alliance member. I have joined the MwWe group as well, just haven't done a post yet. Thanks Stig!!
I do appreciate Ryan and the Hamb, and we do need to show some respect when we're voicing our differences of opinion. Due to Hamb influence, there are some things on my ride I'd like to change, if I could afford it, to at least make it appear a bit more traditional.

Of the 1960 members of the 52-59 Social group there are only 46 members that have joined the HAMB alliance, I don't know about others but I feel like I should do my part to support the site I enjoy on a daily basis.

Ryan recently said there were about 800 alliance members so I figure 5.75% comes from our group. HRP

So it looks like he takes in $40,000 a year just in Alliance memberships, $2,300 of that from guys in here.

Ryan doesn't force anyone to join the alliance and he has never charged anyone to use the web site, it's free but I would imaging a cost a lot of money to keep this site up and running.

He built it from scratch and he is en***led to recoup what he can, after all he did design and build the site, having a alliance membership also benefit's it's members with huge discounts from the alliance vendors, buy a set of tires from Coker and the discount actually pays for your membership. Sounds like he is going to accommodate us :) Good for him, he seems like a very nice understanding guy!

Yea, I have been following that thread pretty close. I have to admit that I can also sympathize with many members that don’t see value in the extra effort to create a “hiding”place for all the OT stuff since there are other forums for stuff considered OT on the HAMB. I, however, could agree that it is nice to have a place to easily access anything related to the 52-59 Ford’s. I enjoyed the AD truckers group (that I was pretty active in even helping with their avatar and t-shirts) as well, although it has pretty much died off. And, that is why I think Jeff has done a great job (with the help of some others) keeping this group active. Anyway, whatever the case, seems this group will likely be able to continue on which is good.

The AD truckers (and others I suspect) really died off with the upgrade to the current format. Social groups were in limbo for what seemed like 3 months.

That's gross, far from net profit. In today's world that's very low income even if it was net. That was a major point I was trying to get across on my main board posts.......Ryan has created something highly unusual in our world, and I really believe one of two things are happening.........either he absolutely doesn't care about money/income. etc, or he is totally not seeing the opportunity I believe he has here to not only make this something very lucrative for him, but at the same time create something really healthy for the current state of car community as well. In the real world, the traditional Hamb approved car is a very small percentage of the hobby. If the main body of our hobby dies off as we all get older, it won't be good for the purists either.
    I'm beating a dead horse.
My "thrashing" wasn't too bad, I did get a "F" grade on my contributions to the Hamb.......not sure how that individual got the numbers he was referencing, I can't find them.

Thanks Jeff, you would know about hard work. I made you an admin on the MeWe page in case you want to add or change anything.

I don’t get on here as much as I should but this is the only forum I typically read. I guess I didn’t realize that there was a way to subscribe. I guess I was just being stupid. Anyway, if I can figure it out I’ll be glad to donate monies.

So if I’m reading this correctly this social group will stay.

I hope so! Has helped me out a lot with my 56.

Go to the red band at the top of the page and click on 'The Alliance'.
Then click on the blue bar 'Click to join the HAMB Alliance now $50'

Don't see that it is worth joining the Alliance at this point if they are kicking the groups out. This is the only section I use.

like paul2748 this is my go to page on the hamb......very rarely look at the main board anymore.........
with the amount of daily traffic on this site i would say it is as relevant as the main board.

Got my fingers crossed. Ryan did say he thinks he has a solution and is working on it, and I don't think Ryan is the kind of guy to throw out false hope. I'll be in when my ss check comes in next week.

I've been following along here and on the main thread for a bit now, and haven't joined in despite starting (and then deleting) a few replies. I'm just kind of surprised and disappointed (I think that's the polite way to say it) at some of the at***udes of other HAMB members. It did remind me, though, why I don't spend very much time on the main board anymore.

I hear ya. One told me his pet peeve was non-alliance members "whining about what they might lose". OK, I can see the issue with not being an alliance member, but "whining"??? I think not. If we said nothing, those same guys would be saying we obviously don't care enough. They don't understand because they are not in successful social clubs.

Pretty sure Ryan will figure out a way for the groups to go forward according to what he said. And, pretty cool actually how many in this group became an Alliance member. Seems $50 is a pretty dang good deal to me to have this forum and all the wealth of knowledge. I do lean pretty much totally toward the traditional side and don’t think there is anything other than the bias-look radials on my 56 that isn’t traditional, so the HAMB fits me overall. It is the only forum for old cars I even visit.

Ok- So using this group to make my "Build Book" for my 1956 Customline. I see how valuable the information was to getting it back on the road again. I just ponied up the $50 to hopefully help save this group.
