I believe I narrowed it down to a Edelbrock Tunnel ram...

Once thing I'm confused on is the New version sold at Jegs and the Tr1Y that I'm assuming is just older...

To me they look the same, can anyone bring me up to speed on the differences ?

    Thanks

There are two versions of the TR1Y, the TR1Y has a slightly larger plenum (not the "bread box" Thats a TR1) and the TR1YX which has slightly smaller plenum. The current version is a TR1YX. I saw a photo of a TR1Y on here just the other day.

I just re-read what you typed......

So your saying the current version meaning being made new now is the TR1YX and that has a smaller plenum...

But the TRY1 is the older version and it maybe be larger or different of some kind...

Yes. This is the TR1YX, I have one of these. well, I have an old one, but functionally, they are identical. I also have a single four bbl top for one, I should sell the top, I have no use for it whatsoever.

Hope this isn't too much of a hijack. Have you seen the individual plenums from Colorado Hot Rod Parts? Looks interesting, but pricey. $1500.00 for a Weiand tunnel ram base and two of their individual plenums and especially calibrated carburetors. Check them out at coloradohotrodparts.com. Rule of thumb is the smaller the plenum the higher the low speed velocity of the of the intake charge. I would love to see what the inside of the plenums look like. The manufacturers say a patent is pending, so the only way to see anything is to buy the set up. I would like to know if the plenums were divided internally.:rolleyes:

This is an old thread i know, but theres currently a thread on the chevelle forum where a guy asked the same thing....
Since its what im looking into and looking for one to buy for a nostalgia engine myself, i figured id update this one incase anyone else wants this info in the future..

he has one of each and measured the runners on both.. he said the runners are identical length and csa, he also said the tr1y has triangular shapes cast in the ports for some reason...,
Im asking him if he can post pics of the ports and cc the plenums on both to compare..
But if its not already common knowledge (news to me) its looking like the 7110 is just a modern casting of the old one, seems like the only difference would be if you wanted an authentic piece or a “repro” piece depending on your taste amd build...

if he sends me the info i asked for ill update this here.. or if snyone here has that info and would like to post it....
Otheewise maybe someone else will revive this thread with it again in 9 years lol
