I have a 1951 Mercury Monarch Convertible that was supposedly fully restored. Turns out the power window switches are in varying degrees of operation. Some won't go up, some won't go down...
Can anyone advise me on a) where to find a wiring diagram for the car that shows power windows. I found diagrams online, but none show power windows, and b) how to remove the door handles, etc to get at the relays, etc? Sure would appreciate your ***istance and wisdom.
    Thanks!

    Hello Casey
I've seen this one before but I can't see power windows on it. Am I missing something?

Hi. I Go t www.faxonatolit.com & purchase a factory shop manual for each of my rides. Dome are originals and some are authorized reprints. You might go there and inquire of their manual has the power windows diagram. Good luck, Jimmie

  10. Just a thought ... the Lincolns of that era had hydraulic power windows.

When I get home today, I'll look in my Lincoln Mercury Service Manual to see about the power window setup.

36roadster, thanks for the clue. Turns out the Monarch does have electric/hydraulic power windows and electric/hydraulic power seat. Now I just have to find some info that will help me service the system. I also need to figure out how to get the interior panels off to get at the electrical part of it. All ideas are welcome!

  15. Grab a copy of the early 50's Lincoln manual- it will have the same set up. I found out because my bro has a '49 Lincoln, and he is in the process of replacing the hydraulic system with electric. It mentions in the workshop manual that there is a Merc dealer option to fit the Lincoln windows to the Mercs.
