Projects And So It Begins

Thank you!! I'll be making a removable tonneau cover...

 

So, this started out as a project in a space at work that the boss was interested in, and we have all seen it go from an old frame to a complete hot rod. How has he and others there reacted to the transformation?

 

Well...most believed that I would never finish it and thought it was just a pile of scrap metal that had no value......When I first fired it, the heads came poking around the corner... They’re in a state of disbelief and amazement at this point....they all want rides!

Windshield in! Need to find all the interior garnish moldings and make some nifty wingnuts for the windshield locks....REALLY shitty brake pedal....must still have some air, real gushy. Still not ready for the ride home, but I’m hovering over the landing pad! Thanks for all the encouragement fellas!

Thanks Mart! Yep! He’s the kind of boss everyone should have! He’s as excited as I am....
I had to order residual valves for the brakes, totally crappy pedal....I’ve bled and re-bled....and from my deduction, with the master lower than the wheel cyls, there’s nothing keeping the fluid in the cylinders.....I’ll get there Mart and take everyone along for the ride!

 

This build was dedicated to this man....the one that started it all for me. My Father Mario “Mo”....his name will be going on it somewhere when I call my striper.....God bless you Pop and know I miss you every day....

Any updates for those of us that have been patiently waiting?

 

Well Os.... I got ‘er home on a flatbed.... I just can’t do the tinkering I need to do when I’m constantly watching the clock.... Overheating and some driveability issues that need to be sorted. Unfortunately, I have to remove the that kick ass radiator....started leaking like a sieve as soon as I added a 4psi pressure cap. I wanted to wait until I had everything sorted before I do nice cruise video....I’ve had it around the block and she goes straight and true with zero bump steer....I’ve ordered a radiator and a new set of front tires.....you guys will be the first to get the video when everything is sorted. I absolutely appreciate the interest and added motivation.....hopefully by next weekend it’ll be good to go....will keep you all posted!

 

Crappy video.....but I'm posting it anyway! She drives wonderful! 3 on the tree works flawlessly....as I said above, straight and true down the road with zero bump steer! I couldn't be happier with how it rides..... Still have some driveability issues to sort, I think my fuel line is too small not allowing proper fuel volume. I addressed the leaky power valve, carbs stay nice and dry when shutting down with no bleed out. I installed a 1-4psi Holley fuel pump and had someone convince me to install a pressure regulator too. With the combination of the 1/4" line and the regulator, gauge is reading no more than 1.5psi..... It's got a lean "pop" until you get into the secondaries and it clears up. I have some 3/8" line I'm installing and removing the regulator and we'll see how it goes.....thanks for letting me ramble fellas, I'm slightly jazzed!
