Quick q

    is there a good (fast) way to identifie a350 from a 305 from the out side?

  3. Behind the distributor hole,on the surface that has the big casting numbers.
    Same surface next to where the bellhousing bolts to.
    Some later 350s had 5.7 cast into them & the later 305s had 5.0 cast into them.
    You can always take the big casting number to www.mortec.com.
    Hope this helps.

    if the casting number ends in 010 or 014 or 207 then it's a 350. these seem to be the most common casting numbers.

    Okay thank´s guy´s.
    it seem´s that they can look a litle different depending of year?
    i have a 350 block that has a cast in the lower left that saight 350
    but on my other one does not,i find a chep van that has a good running engine and ****** and thougt that it can com in handy but i dont want a 305.
