One of my all-time favorites!! Played a good dying-scene, and a DAMNED good drunk scene! Was also known to live more than one drunk scene... He could really pack it away. For those of you that wouldn't be caught dead watching a musical, send the family to your Mother-in-law's for a few hours and watch "Paint Your Wagon", probably his best movie. Thanks for posting. Almost forgot... He was on Johnny Carson one night and Carson asked about his WW II injury: " I got the Purple Heart for being shot in the ass."

 

Paint your Wagon was great. He was a Marine, I think he's buried in Arlington.
