So I have posted a thread in the traditional customs section about my 1950 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe stock 230 engine cracking. I've found a few engines unfortunately out of my state of Florida. Is there anyone near or around Trinity, Alabama, USA. The gentleman with the engine only wants a $400 check or money order as payment. I tried to discuss transferring money through PayPal but he said he is not familiar with it. I do not have the time to travel currently. I obviously do not know the guy since he is from the internet and I do not feel safe sending a check to someone online without seeing the engine or the possibility of being scammed. I would like to see if someone on here possibly can go check if the engine is real, for me, please. Thank you.
What are other secure methods of payments and avoiding the potential of being scammed? Check/money order and western union type of payments just sound waaay to open to being scammed.
I tried suggesting PayPal but the guy is an older guy who says he doesn't know about it nor knows how to use it.
thanks for the reply! I called him up. The issue is he says he knows nothing about the engine because it was left from his deceased fathers shop except that its a 230 along with some pictures he sent me to do my own research. My other concern is I hear countless stories of guys being scammed by sending money orders/western union to people they don't know over the internet and never get or recieve the product they paid for.
If it comes down to only this working. Send me the $ and I’ll pick it up. It can sit at my shop until you can head up this direction.
