Hey Stevie, thanks alot!Im sure the book will help and Im deff. gonna buy it,but I was wondering if anyone on here had any first hand knowlege with them. Also I was wondering what it would take to get a 4 speed manual, behind a auto motor. Thanks again! EVIL
Take a look at this site... http://www.buicks.net/racing/l8_performance.html They also made a 2x2 manifold for them in 41/42. I'm just learning about these because I just got one a few months ago. They're pricey (anywhere from $300-$500 for the manifold), but pretty neat. More info here... http://www.dualcarbregistry.org/
Dont forget to go to the homepage to check out the other posts regarding the tuned intake manifolds, headers, and the 4 or 5spd manual trans adapters (only need to drill 2 holes in the stock bell housing). Interesting stuff. Larry

Here's a link... http://www.teambuick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9365 There's also a ton of info here on the HAMB... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81619 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25465
Hey its great to hear that someone else is playing with this weird ol monster. I am right in the middle of building up a '53 263. Its going in my roadster - more on that later. Right now I have it bored .040 and the head milled .080. I plan on having a pretty light car (except for the cast iron out front) so I am not going too radical on the engine. I just discovered something that is really interesting...the intake ports are exactly the same size as those on a 1275 MG midget. Now I have visions of FOUR 1 1/4" SU's on this thing. All I need now is two complete MG intakes and a lot of guts! I have been real happe with Egge Machine for all the parts so far. I'll keep you posted.
I have bought a pair of Rover (buick 215) carbs from a 3528cc motor and I am making my own inlet for this for the Buick 263... You think, a 263 pushing 130bhp isnt far off a stock 215 pushing 160bhp is it... about the same CFM I think.
