Hey, just thought I would share a couple pics. One of my 55 Royal Lancer, and a couple of my new project 50 Dodge fastback with 49 Plymouth nose. Plans are to leave the patina and turn it into a ratty gasser, with big block dodge drivetrain of course. rsz_fb_img_1528287657820.jpg rsz_fb_img_1528287657820.jpg

Cool Lancer, stylish body that is way unrecognized.
A coat of primer on the '50 straight body would be easy and look better than rust.

I see there's already some custom touches in the back. How about adding frenched headlights and some minor dechroming in the front? Nothing finished, do the work and leave it in red oxide primer, maybe sneak in a 440 for a little surprise!

Time for a progress report on the 50 Dodge. Dana 60 narrowed with spool and installed on housing floaters, 440 / 727 and fenderwell headers installed, front I beam and steering linkage installed. Next up is ladder bars then cage, floors, install the vintage tunnel ram and wiring / plumbing. I was hoping to have it ready to go this year but looking like next year, LOL. If there is any racing this year it will be in my 55 Dodge again. I am still looking for name ideas if anyone has any suggestions. Thinking rat gas (rat rod gasset), or maybe pandemic because I have been building through the pandemic.

Looks like you're well into the build. I personally like a wider rear axle so the tires hang outside the body a bit. Just what I like though.

Very cool build....always like that body style...nice launch on your other car by the way.
I also have a "Odd Rod" in the works running a dana 60 narrowed with a spool ...I had a little extra tire on the rear so I decided to let some of it hang out a little.
I will be watching your out come ...maybe I'll pickup some ideas

Update time again. Currently I am working on ladder bar fabrication, and I have bought some new (old) mags for the car.

The mags are ET uniligs, does anyone know how NHRA stance on unilugs? Has anyone ever welded up the unilug holes and redrilled them to a dedicated bolt pattern?

OK, so the car should be running and on the street in a week or so. Still lots of details to work out and I need to put some street miles on, but definitely on track for Miles Of Mayhem, western Canadas drag week. Starting to get excited!

Yep, good names. I have been thinking for quite a while about naming it pandemic, because I built it through the pandemic. Great minds think alike!

I like TheCOVID COUPE a lot also. Those 2 are my favorites but “The VIRUS” is kind of cute also. With all of them I would also add a picture of a little virus!
