Hey hellfish. I'll be bringing b/g666 down again, this time with a freshly blown 283 fed by 8 94's. See you guys down there! Hopefully less oil this time.

Corpse Show Creeps was by far the best of the bands!!
I didn't quite know what to think about Bloodshot Bill. I thought he was a dynamite musician...but I thought his show was just plain 'odd' (I didn't see the whole set though). He sold me a can of pomade though so he ain't all bad. It was an excellent time and I'll definately be back next year if you guys do it again (and you should)! My previous offer to help still stands if you guys were at all short handed.

Please tell me more about this little roadster. And especially more about the '53-54 Ford/Merc behind it!

My dad and I came down in my grey 31 Model A Tudor. We had a great time! We NEED more events like this in MN!

The car behind the roadster is a certified Barris custom that was done in 62 originally. He's a local at our Friday night history cruiser in North St.Paul. I'm sure someone will chime in with all the facts on his car. Beautiful!

thought it was a white and purple ford?. cant recall. had a purple glass roof that was pretty killer.... think there was something wrong with it though...it was leaving all kinds of smoke and black tire rubber behind...haha...

  8. I heard he has the car sold. He also has a yellow and white '57 Chevy that looks like it stepped off the drag strip in the mid- 60's, here's a crappy pic

Hate to burst your bubble, but that is not an OG barris kustom. he made the magazine that sat in the rear window. That was all made up. Looks ral though.

the 289/302 in the engine bay gives it away, if you read the magazine it says 312, but has the smallblock in the picture...

Good to see Paso John is still driving my '59 El Camino around. Wish he would bring it home, I knew I made a mistake by letting him drive it, now he's probably telling everyone it's his.  :D

    No bursted bubble here:)
Yeah...I was talking to a guy last night at a show and he told me the same thing. VERY realistic looking phoney article he made up. Still....a very very nicely done custom. Glad you posted, I came back today to clarify and now don't have to.

The only thing I could see on that car that might be a problem (at least for me) was the purple glass in the roof. After a few hours driving you might get out of the car and be color blind from being in that purple environment:D

Thank you for everyone showing up and making it a great show! We were not really sure how it was going to be for being a first year show but after seeing what we are capable of doing, the excitement in planning next years show has already begun. If anybody is interested in purchasing an event shirt please contact me so we can get a final count. We are going to only do one more run so get em while you can cuz when they are gone they are gone.

Thanks again everybody, if it wasn't for you, we would not have had such a successful show. We'll see ya next year.

Gotgas asked about the tub and the awesome custom behind it. The tub began as a '27 Chrysler 4 door. It looked like it sat upside down in a cesspool 'cuz the whole top was swisscheesed. Didn't have to fight the restorers for it. The taillights are semi-truck clearance light housings with Caddy bullets shoved in. Everything is homemade and low cost including the windshield frame and stanchions. It has movie theater seats. Most everything else is from a junkyard.
The Mpls. Messaround was a great show. If it grows like the "Hunnert" it could be the premier show in the frozen North. If it stays as is, it will always be a "don't miss it" event.
    Thanks, Lucky Bastards.

GREAT SHOW, Most of my friends are obssed with escaldes with 24 inch spinners but i would rather have any of the cars at this show. i am only going into my sophmore year in highschool but am lucky enough to be building a 38 GMC pickup w/ my grandpa (bobw) who has this 27 chrysler tub and 5 other rods. can't wait to next year and maybe i will be able to get enough money to bring my own rod! -zach

You are very priviledged to have that. What could be better really? You get to build a cool rod and you get to do it with your grandfather. Pick his brain...this is an opportunity that many of us never had. Hope to see you both next year.

  25. Well since he has done so much work on it "for you" maybe you should give him a '32 5w for Christmas just to show your appreciation...:D Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy

Yeah - I think we are going to do another run of shirts here in the near future. We just need to know sizes and where to send em' when finished.
