Reminds me of the time my wife saw a lady with an engine fire drive into a coin-operated high pressure wand-type car wash to put it out!! "Anybody got change for a $20?"
Doesn't look like a real efficient shipping method... maybe three cars to a boxcar? Also, I've heard stories of wheel bearings (and other bearings) going south on cars shipped by rail, because of the short but intense pounding of the rail joints. Don't know if that's true, but I heared it!
Yep, we called 'em boxcar bearings..... cause was not lashing the cars down tight enough during shipping. Roller bearings had the problem, I replaced my share...
