Got this with a bunch of Ford speed equipment and parts.-and I know its not for a Four Banger. It appears to be a six cylinder intake/exhaust manifold combination with 6 round exhaust ports and four intake ports. It has two carburetors marked Solex but nothing else than I can see. The overall length is about 23-24" long. Any ideas what this is from? Thanks in advance.
I don't see any exhaust ports... where's the outlet to the rest of the exhaust? What I do see is six round intake ports, the rectangular ports are for water heating the intake, probably for drivability reasons. No guess on what it fits. This might be a good one for @Ned Ludd
I was thinking maybe Jaguar as well, like Jethro suggested. It would be early Jaguar as the 60's and later used SU carbs.
Jag Mk I Mark II intake similar to this one OEM Jaguar MK1 MK2 2.4 Inlet Intake Manifold for Dual Solex Carbs C11532 | eBay I think the casting number on this one ^^^ matches yours. Worth cleaning up a bit and throwing on Ebay or hauling to a swap meet to get a few more coins in the hot rod kitty at any rate. A bit more research might add some resale value especially if the carbs are complete and look good.
Could be Jag as they did connect the upper radiator hose to the intake. This one appears to have the water manifold missing, it would connect to those four flanged round ports and have the hose outlet.
2.4 litre jag manifold . I want to say till the late 50’s early 60’s. by 64 at least if not earlier jag went to SU Sidedraft carbs . solex carbs are great carbs, reliable easy to tune and rebuild . anyways more of a euro carb I guess .
The intake probably 100 to 150 by it's self without the water housing that the one I posted the Ebay link to. I am not sure what those carbs go for. This one has and asking of 45 but I have no idea of what a rebuildable core is worth and yours may or may not be rebuildable cores. 373415493092 It may or may not be a hard sell but anything you get is found money that reduces the cost of what you actually bought the pile for. Clean it up a bit without going overboard, see if the throttle plates are free, take high quality photos, make sure you show all of the casting numbers, get the numbers off the carbs if you have them. It's those little nit picking details that the guys looking for that setup want to know.
I appreciate all the help and info. The knowledge here never ceases to amaze me. I know this is not particularly a HAMB thing, so I'll list it for sale elsewhere. If anyone here needs or wants this, I would be happy with 200.00 for whole sha'bang. It is certainly surplus to my requirements. It is actually in pretty decent original shape, it just has a lot of loose dirt and dust on it. The carbs do not look like they have been wrenched on and I would say they are good cores for rebuild.
