Brooks didn’t post anything from our Tuesday night Rambler work yesterday. He didn’t think we got much accomplished to warrant pictures. I took some because everything we do is a few steps closer.
We got the carrier back in the rearend, ran some brake Lines and put new wheel cylinders and axle seals in. 0ED6B36B-615A-475A-908B-EFF52D56B900.jpeg 0CED2711-B61E-47D7-AFC6-C41BF449366B.jpeg 8CBAB13B-10DA-469F-B15B-69C1EE57C345.jpeg

A lot of progress today. Finally got the axles back so we put them in and put on a few tires from my Dad's '32. First time the Rambler rolled in around 8 months. 20210727_162531.jpg 20210727_165030.jpg 20210727_165547.jpg 20210727_165557.jpg 20210727_165611.jpg 20210727_165706.jpg 20210727_165716.jpg 20210727_165726.jpg we also took the mock up engine out of the engine bay. last time that'll be in there. We then cut out almost all of the wires in the engine bay. Then gave her a much needed pressure wash all over. 20210727_180300.jpg 20210727_180848.jpg 20210727_182240.jpg 20210727_185543.jpg IMG_2066.jpg IMG_2068.jpg really happy with the progress so far. still have a long way to go! Next thing, paint the engine bay. IMG_2064.jpg

Nice! That painted engine bay is gonna make all the difference in the world when you install the new engine.

Big day today! Got the trans hooked up to the 350 and put it in the rambler, hopefully for the last time.here are a bunch of pictures of it in there. 20210810_175913.jpg 20210810_193508.jpg 20210810_193501.jpg 20210810_191929.jpg 20210810_191908.jpg 20210810_191638.jpg 20210810_191516.jpg Transmission mounted to frame.vvvv 20210810_185747.jpg also got the last of the brake line done. Got the rubber hose attached 20210810_183508.jpg
This was a big step in the build. I really do feel like it's almost done now, though I know there is still so much to do
Thanks for all the help Dad. Without you, I'd still be trying to figure out how to remove the rearend.

Got all of the exhaust in for good. really excited to hear what it sounds like when it's running. especially with the cutouts. 20210817_161603.jpg and we put the radiator in for the last time. hopefully. 20210817_165504.jpg 20210817_142958.jpg just before I left, Dad tested out the horn and it sounded kinda cool, definitely old fashioned.

Not much has been lately but here's a few things.
We temporarily put the rambler mirror on to see what it looked like. 20210903_130139.jpg 20210903_130154.jpg 20210903_130144.jpg 20210903_130127.jpg we installed the radiator hoses tonight. Also got a radiator overflow tank. 20210907_175739.jpg 20210907_175745.jpg also worked on the throttle cable and connecting it to the weird rambler pedal thing. 20210907_185449.jpg 20210907_185506.jpg we also been trying to install a transmission dipstick for awhile now, on the second one now. It's been nothing but a pain in the ***. Hopefully the one we have now doesn't leak.

Regreased the wheel bearings and installed new seals. 20210914_175843.jpg 20210914_181140.jpg finally got all the wheels sandblasted and got the front wheels painted. Here is what the final product is going to look like. 20210914_175809.jpg dad also painted the R in the mirror. It really stands out now, I love it. 20210914_180109.jpg more stuff next week. Progress has been slow but at least stuff is getting done.

Congratulations on all of the good progress on the Rambler!
That painted red R on the mirror looks great ! That shine on the chrome on the mirror reflects the serious grease under the fingernails! True badges of progress!

Thanks! greasing up those wheel bearings and chipping off 50+ year old tar really gets my hands dirty.

Thanks, hopefully next week will be a bit of a bigger step. Want to reinstall the backseat, sound deaden the floor, jb weld the pinholes in the floor, and patch up the last piece of floor panel. And hopefully the front wheels will have tires mounted on them.

Got some of the sound deadening put on and the rear seat installed. My upholstery on the seat isn't perfect but I don't really care about being perfect. 20210921_175615.jpg 20210921_183233.jpg 20210921_183252.jpg 20210921_183311.jpg 20210921_191237.jpg also got the El cheapo battery mounted. custom battery hold down strap made from the same metal Dad was using for the interior of his single seater 20210921_192108.jpg 20210921_171754.jpg 0221201817.jpg

Neat build, enjoying your progress. You may want to give the battery top hold down more clearance around the posts. Keep'em coming!

    I’ll ask, what’s a mosquito pic?
