I like the rear wheel well opening on that first car. It looks like they tried to match the front and did a very good job.

I wish NASCAR would start a nostalgia series and run cars like this, I would be all in for that! Limit it to 1960 and older to prevent aerodynamics from playing too much of a part so the cars looked somewhat stock. Love this 56, just enough hi tech to make it safe and go fast. 160285427676ad875b6d6dc30-scaled.jpg

Found some info about it on Cl***ic Cars dot COM. Sold in November 2020.

This car was originally completed eight years ago by combining a Hooters Pro Cup ch***is with a 1955 Ford Fairlane. The ch***is was lengthened and the body widened to bring everything together.

Thanks Down-the-road, I didn't have any other information on the car so this is really cool Information. The second thing that caught my eye when I saw the picture of this car was the 800+ HP rating on the hood so I knew this was using some "modern technology" under the hood. Again I think a race series using a composite body and a basic spec ch***is that was safe and handled well, limit engines to 355ci with a 650 carb, body and engine manufacture must match. Limit things like cylinder heads and intake manifolds, stock block to prevent the cost from going out of sight, make the body from multi pieces (top, hood, trunklid, left side, right side, etc) to make the repairs cost effective and once again have Ford's, Chevy's, Dodges, all compete on asphalt and dirt tracks would be a winner. I go to the local dirt track and they run "modified's" they are fast but they don't hardly look like cars and if they don't have a sticker on the side you don't even know what brand of powerplant they are running. NHRA has screwed up Pro Stock which used to be one of my favorite Drag Racers to watch, now it is like "Gee, I wonder which Camaro is going to win today" and that does nothing for this Ford guy to make me want to watch. I guess I am just old.....

Thanks, down-the-road. I thought it would be a stock car. I like it, even better, now that I know it's a road racer :)

We have a guy in our car club who does stuff like this just to piss people off! He has a 55 Chevy 2 door post with a 351 C and a C6 in it and a Cobra emblem in the grille, drives the Chevy guys nuts.

Not a drag car, just a Street Rod, but put it on the track at the Nostalgia Nationals at Atmore Dragway last year. 408 Small block Ford and Dual Fitech fuel Injection. It ran decent for 3.23 gear and street radials.
