Maybe make a few changes on it to your liking to make it yours and then enjoy it. It’s a great looking Ford. Congratulations
Great car! I really like the color. I did the same thing as you. Bought a driver with what I wanted on it. At 75 couldn't build both the coupe and pickup that I had, so bought a coupe and am working on the truck.
Even Clint Eastwood remarked, “A man has to know his limitations”, Good enough for me. I learned that I’m not a ground up builder, so I buy something done and improve things and add/subtract things to make them mine. That is one Fine 40, but you might try insulating the floor (I used some rolled insulation from Lowe’s/ Home Depot) before the muffler work. It’s really thin, lays down nicely and is easy to work with. You can join the pieces/stick it down with the silver duct tape ( the real stuff that’s similar to sticky tape). Enjoy your rides, Carp.
These guys brought the car. I thought at $1600 shipping it would be in an open transport. Not the case. I was impressed with this company. Me getting in for my first drive (1.5 miles to my house). I was nervous because I hadn't driven a three-on-a-tree for many years, but it came right back. Not even a stall leaving the parking lot.
1st post...High Fives Hamber... You have a cool business...we don't have many dealers reaching back into the Good Ole Days like yourself this way... Thanks for chiming in Spud...what's your favorite type of Hotrod or are you more a Custom guy? Surrounded by wheels you must have some Hamb Friendly interests...
Hey Stogy, You bet, member since 2010, I generally stay pretty quiet, occasionally taking the time to visit and always busy on the road clocking about 50k miles a year looking for special cars and/or collections (my favorite part, I meet many kool friends along the way) . Actually my favorite cars are the "honest one's", I personally enjoy cars with good solid character and overall timeless style, nothing in particular. "If cars could talk, what a story they could tell?" and I think they do.. Business, I always do my best to bring them to others as I would want to see them, honest and straight forward. I truly enjoy it, its a p***ion, not a job! I'll do my best to chime in more often. Safe Travels & Happy Hot Rodding
@Ashcraft Do you know what color that is? At first I thought it was Cloud Mist Grey, but it looks a little dark for Cloud Mist Grey. Is it Acadia Green? Great looking '40 either way.
Brian, looked at and still do look at your cars on the web, the quality of the cars you share is second to none . Mouth watered over all those 40s even before I bought my sedan. I would think all have been out of my price range ( or what I was willing to spend ,wouldn't finance ) but every time I looked at the traditionl , timeless 40s you represented it set the bar for the right look and attention to detail. Your sellers have quality 40s .There like looking back at a good John Wayne movie enjoyable , timeless , quality .
